    Mattanite's M23 Roster Analysis Spreadsheet

    Mattanite's Roster Analysis Spreadsheet

Teams - Provides insight into team roster strengths such as off and dev ove, breakdown of dev by team, ovr distribution, age by team, a place to assign team states and filter by promising youth. Features variable settings based on what you look for when choosing a team.

Ratings - Full madden 23 roster ratings with heat map of key ages, modernised automatic groupings and position filters, archetypes, Scoutscore/PhysScore/SkillScore values for each player and an upper and lower bound trade value based on the SMLE trade grid.

Grades - Turn all the ratings into grades based on a 90/80/70/60/50 thresholds and also turn all physical ratings into the M22 scouting style Elite to Poor.

OvrTeam - Display of the highest OVR at a position for every team as well as rank across the league.

OvrDist - This shows a distribution of the OVR and Dev of base rosters and my M22 10yr advance roster distribution on base XP sliders and base dev limits. You can change the XP sliders and dev limits to get a graphical estimate of how your roster distribution will change over 10 years.

Rook - Full list of all draftees by pick with their OVR, dev and Scoutscore/PhysScore values.

SP Arc Simple - My m21/22 XP predictor by player for a full team over 5 years. Enter the player, position, age and dev and it will estimate their OVR each season for 5 seasons as a starter.

Draft Value - The Jimmy Johnstone draft value chart in excel format with ability to change draft pick value by which season you're on (rookies worth less closer you are to ending).

Trade Grid - The SMLE trade grid in excel format so you can edit and capture the image for your own league.

    Enjoy!

Trying to scrape but the M23 database didn't pull through on my data recipe, I've also got the data available via the api data source going into the online roster (which I can break and sort very easily) but it's limiting me to 65 players. If anyone has a link to a full roster sooner it could be easier/quicker.

          First version of spreadsheet uploaded.

          Missing items

Teams - Fullback adjusted roster ratings (teams without Fullbacks have a higher offense and team ovr than those without), Team States (fill your own in).

Roster - Dev for players (will update if information comes out soon enough).

OVRDist - Was a base 10yr class from M22, will need testing with M23.

Quick reupload (sorry to the 2 people who downloaded already), was missing the future 1st and 2nd Saints to Eagles trade in Teams.

Had some early feedback, version 1.02 uploaded.
              • ScoutScore, PhysScore and SkillScore were not sortable due to same tab name Ratings! causing wrong line to feed into the scores. Now fixed.
              • All grades are now sortable as they had a same tab name in formula causing formula to lock onto cells.
              • Rookie OVR didn't have a heat map (updated tab name too, in case folks think we're playing chess...)
              • Added some cell formatting to help viewing.
              • Changed SmallSpeedRusher archetype to SpeedRusher in line with M23 archetypes.

Re: Mattanite's M23 Roster Analysis Spreadsheet

I've started to evolve the roster spreadsheet into a sheet called FrontOffice.

It uses the roster sheet at the moment but the plan is to eventually get it to interface with gamerhuddle, daddyleagues or mymadden data too. It's great for deciding between teams based on depth chart view and xp projection but eventually could be used to manage all cpu teams in a solo franchise.

FrontOffice prototype currently produces a depth chart by position for any team selected which is ordered by either player ovr, ScoutScore (handy for assessing youth) and PhyScore (handy for assessing physical freaks). There's even a switch that allows you to flip between 3-4 and 4-3 defensive schemes and all players will shift and reorder automatically.

Also, the xp projection tab is now fully automated by the top ranked 53 player final roster (also sorts by the ovr-ScoutScore-PhyScore switch), so by selecting a team you can see the 5yr ovr projection of that player each year if they were a starter.

I intended to add automated team state, contract/resign advice and draft suggestions by pick value but currently the optimisation isn't great (changing teams takes around 10 second load times).

Will uploaded when I have a chance to zip.

Really useful spreadsheet, thanks for sharing.

Is there any way you could include free agents?

This is fantastic stuff Mattanite. Your spreadsheet will help me in numerous ways.

                            1. One of the things I like to do when creating sliders is play numerous franchise games over and over again with two "average" teams. I edit the Broncos and their week 1 opponents (last year it was NYG) so that each team is equal and has average ratings across all positions (plus no SS/XF players) and then play lots of games while manipulating sliders so that I can get a fairly consistent "average" set of stats across multiple games.

This year as well as the Seahawks I'll do Denver's week 2 opponents (Texans) as well so I can account for HFA.

The problem with a lot of user slider sets is that they seem to take no account of ratings. By controlling for ratings I think I can create a more consistent slider set when I start franchise.

Anyway your spreadsheet will allow me to quickly identify rating averages across all positions. This will save me a lot of work!

                            2. Your spreadsheet will also help me understand weighting for rookies and future draft classes. I tend to use other people's draft classes, but your spreadsheet will help me align their draft class so it does not skew the overall averages across the league.

Brilliant work and thank you so much!

The XP arc was based on M20 and 21 work but has remained a decent estimator since they rescaled draft class ovr down but increased XP for under age 26 players. Still only an estimate.

The XP sliders projector for roster distribution is only an estimator too, and I will be running test leagues for M23 to set our SMLE sliders again (just in case positions earn XP at different rates between 22 and 23).

Speaking of SMLE, I see British in your name... are you in one of the European sim leagues??
