I read the GI article and yes, refs are back on the field! Hopefully this means less transition wipes and a more broadcast type presentation.

This lol. Cool aesthetic to have back but if they didn’t fix ALL the penalties in the game, the sliders, and making sure the refs actually spot the ball (especially for no huddle) then it’s kind of pointless.

No huddle definitely needs a rework as well.

Yes, they’re in. Now everyone’s moving the goal post lol. First it was simply, put the refs back on the field!! Now it’s: there’s no point if they’re not actually throwing the flags, doesn’t matter if they don’t have different color flags, are they going to argue with the coaches, etc lol!

Lol, right? What cracks me up is people asking for written confirmation after already seeing pic and vid evidence. If there was an article or tweet or something saying refs were in before pics and vids, people would be like “I won’t believe it until I see it!” Lol

Glad to see refs are FINALLY back on the field.

If they did anything to actually have realistic penalties start being called again, well then heck… I might actually buy the game this year.

I know I know the tourney crowd doesn’t want penalties, blah blah. But they made the different game modes so hopefully they can have penalties for the sim crowd and the current (lack of) penalties for the tourney crowd in tourney mode. I just want a realistic football sim; penalties are in real NFL games so should be in this game.

Penalties are in the game, it's just takes a mountain to make them activate.

Penalties need to be called in the game, not just the Holy Trinity of Holding, FM and

roughing the QB.

It's my sandbox, let me make it my NFL world.

Having said that, people complained when the refs were taken out, so, I don't

get why the same folks complain when they go back in. Same with mini-games,

EA didn't hype the refs in the game and Mini Games were 3rd or 4th on the list.

This is coming from someone that quit playing Madden 23 before Thanksgiving.

Did not hold my interest.

Glad refs and mini games are back in, but I do hope the refs let the flags fly.

Doesn't bother me how people want to spin it.

1. Speak for yourself or someone else, not me.
2. I have never been one to say I want an aesthetically pleasing football simulation. Refs were on the field and functioned as actual refs in 2004.
3. Thank you for disregarding my gratefulness in having the refs be present on the field to say I’m moving the goal posts as if it was my lifelong dream to simply see zebras on the field and have them not do anything at all.

I know this isn’t directed at me specifically but I’d like to say, before the trolls hit, that i’m not complaining about the refs being in the game. And i’m not unappreciative of them being in the game. It would be somewhat pointless to have refs run around the field and just be a hologram that doesn’t do anything. Is it nice to see them? Yes. Is it weird to see them just be there? Yes. Multiple things can be true at once. And i’m not directing this at you either, I agree with what you said also.
