News feed and stats presentation updates?

I really think this years news feed is an improvement from the previous two iterations of madden but i would really like to see if its possible if the news feed could get some updates in future patches.
Things like a banner showing power rankings a few times during the season and maybe draft grades after the draft would be great improvements that i think could easily get added since it is just some text not meaning much (see pictures below). The biggest thing however is having the news feed be bigger because as of right now we can only see 15 tweets at a time in the regular season and 24 tweets in the offseason. That needs to be at least double that in my opinion so that you could at least read a tweet about each team.

When it comes to the stats updates i would really like to see the small updates like the awards tab saying all pro for each position instead of “Best QB” or “Best DB”. Also when looking at the pro bowlers that would be a good addition would be to allow us to click the player card of a player in that menu screen. I also would also love to see the pancake stat added back for offensive linemen and the biggest and obvious one is for pressures and pressures allowed being added for edge rushers and the O-Line. The award system could also be highlighted in the news feed by at least showcasing who wins the MVP award with a big banner instead of a little small tweet that we currently get.

I would love to read opinions on this and does anyone think its possible that they could update these things this year?

Draft grades is something we could add to the scouting tools, but without being a website connecting to the server api the drafting teams would have entered manually. I like the the idea though.

Thank you! I really feel like this years game could really be enhanced with really small features like this. The main thing i wonder is how hard would it be to implement inside the actual game.

They have banners in Superstar mode that should be in Franchise mode. like the NFL Draft and Combine banners. They use assets from Franchise in Superstar. I dont see why they dont do the same thing for Franchise.

The easiest way of doing it is ranking the Ovr of the rookie afterwards vs the draft pick value and automating a grade. It's not hard.

The more complicated way is making it more sim where you compare the rookie projected pick vs the actual draft pick to work out the spread for "draft grade" (already partially done in Scouting tool). The ovr could factor in but if you're pulling a surprise 75ovr in the 5th round but they were projected in the 5th they're a gem rather than "good value".

Yeah I saw that thread you created and wanted to expand on it a little bit more. I 100% agree with you that the assets in superstar mode should be in franchise as well. I wanted to create this thread to try to get some traction in the community for not only those banners being added but also some new different ones to help make the game more feel more immersive in this current cycle. As I stated before I'm not sure how difficult it would be to patch these types of things into franchise mode considering how much they are struggling with other things to fix but its worth a try.

Besides the Draft Grades which was in previous madden from Madden 04-12.

Madden 99 tracked more stats than 24 does…a 25 yr old game…one unique stat they tracked was qb pressures…previous maddens also tracked big hit tackles…qb 4th quarter comebacks…catches allowed…catches thrown to…wth happen to those stats? They had something good going with next gen stats…but they took those out. Remember when they had a detailed drive summary banner like 15 years ago…took that out too. When a new devo team comes in they wipe all the presentation aspects of the previous game and want to do their own thing. The stat ideas of previous devos were simply a lot better than they are today. It’s is what it is.

Man…..I would love a weekly Good Morning Football wrap up show highlighting games around the league, rumors, trades, injuries.

Something that can be dynamic and adapt as your season unfolds.

It was done in 2004.

It can be done again.

And the Draft presentation needs the NFLN treatment with commentary on all the branching storylines in fictional draft classes.

Again…it was done before and can be done again at an even higher level with the new consoles.

I’ve given up hope on 2k5 presentation or the Tony Bruno show style immersion.

The best we can hope for is maybe something like the EXTRA POINT SHOW from 2010 and 2011. However even that is a long shot.

Tiburon has ultimately decided this is not an area of value for them.
