    UGH, Edition Question

I swear everytime a new game comes out it gets more and more confusing to understand what edition I want.

    Ok, this simple...

For 2k24, all I really care about is having access to the old school Wrestlemania wrestlers from the get-go. No grinding please.

In that case, do I have to get the ridiculously priced $100+ edition? ...or can I simply get the basic, and then go and purchase a pack with those wrestlers in it? (on the first day)

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I am also seeing that the Wrestlemania thing isn't even avail until the Summer? So no matter what edition, no one is playing the Wrestlemania mode, or any of its wrestlers until Summer???

    So, so, so unnecessarily confusing!

    Re: UGH, Edition Question

A important thing which I came across last year as someone who only uses legends and CAW. Why I may just buy the whole DLC pack is a lot of CAW will be blocked from downloading if they are using certain moves.

The DLC will be staggered out over several months.

If you want the unlockables from the Wrestlemania showcase without playing through the showcase mode, yes, you need the most expensive version. That is the only one comes with the unlock all functionality for the Showcase stuff.

It's possible they will sell that separately but I'm not aware that anything has been announced and in the past couple of years, when they have sold the stuff from the most expensive version, it's been one pack with everything that costs as much as the difference between the versions so short of waiting for a sale, there was no savings.

Some of the additional content that comes with the most expensive version won't be out until summer because that version also includes the Wrestlemania 40 arena, which obviously they can't have ready until after the actual event.

The Showcase mode itself is available day one.

This year is more confusing than the past, but I think I have it right:

If you want the auto-unlock for the stuff from the in-game store, they’ll have the Supercharger available (last year it was $5). This does not unlock Showcase items.

If you want to automatically unlock the Showcase content, that unlock is included with the WM bonus pack that also comes with 5 WM attires and the WM40 arena (arena releases in the summer). This pack is currently not available separately, but it’ll come eventually - price unknown.

The Showcase itself is in-game, the only extra DLC stuff is the attires and WM40 arena.

Soooo I might have miscommunicated that, I am more than willing to play through Showcase for the Wrestlemania unlocks, BUT the way it's advertised makes it sound like that Showcase is only available IF I buy the over $100 version of the game. Huh?

The booster I''ll get for sure, but at the end of the day, all I want is:

Day 1. - able to play showcase and begin unlocking as it goes on.

          What edition offers that? lol

For the 20 DLC that was announced you will have to buy them

to unlock the base wrestlers locked behind showcase mode you can unlock those with any addition. It will just take time to do it.

To just do that? Get the standard edition and you're good to go. Showcase unlocks as you play it, the booster unlocks the other stuff from the main menu store, and any legend DLC you can make a decision on when the time comes.

All versions have the Showcase and applicable unlockables.

The middle version is the base game plus the season pass.

The most expensive version comes with the game, the season pass, plus some alternate costume DLC for wrestlers that are in the base game of outfits they wore at past Manias and the Wrestlemania 40 arena (plus there's some extra bull**** for their microtransaction mode). That extra costume/arena stuff is what's coming later, presumably because they can't add the Mania 40 arena until after the show actually happens.

If all you want is to be able to play through the Showcase and unlock the content from it, you're fine with the base version.

I was confused about this also, so I can get the middle version which includes the DLC and just unlock all the characters in the Showcase manually by just playing them but I won't have their attires or WM40 arena?

I can deal with that Deluxe may be for me

You’ll get their Showcase attires. The attires in the extra WM pack are just 5 random ones from matches that didn’t make the game.

The Smackdown Hotel actually has a great breakdown of everything:

WWE 2K24 will release in 4 different Game Editions: the Standard Edition, the Cross-Gen Bundle, the Deluxe Edition, and the 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition.

                          Excellent!

However, with the options to buy a Cross Gen version, how will that affect Community Creations?

If I have a PS5 digital or hard copy, can I access CAWs that are made in Community Creations via PS4?

Yeah. Everything worked across all platforms last year and there hasn't been any reason to think they changed that.
