    Generic Rosters

Unsure whether this has been discussed thoroughly, but the more I read on the limitations the real players may have on the game the more I want the option to start a dynasty will a fully generic roster. The current team ratings would remain unchanged with the generic roster reflecting that. Hopefully an option like this would also allow for draft class export which I badly want to utilize in future games.

This is coming from someone that prefers to use the Madden generated draft classes over and "real" created draft class. Guess I do not have the same interest in having the real players and no way to carry them forward.

I've not heard anything like this, though I would love it. This would open up the path to creating an historic roster. But I don't expect we'll get anything like it.

Unfortunately, none of what you desire will be in this game. Having real players in the game was at the top of EA's list when they made the decision to bring the game back. There's no way, they give us the option of having a generic roster...which effectively deads your second desire of exporting draft classes.

As bad as we all want to be able to edit, and to export draft classes, unless college football gets a College Football Players Association , or the game comes to PC, we can probably hang that up.

Not if EA does what it should & includes a clause in these players contracts that specifically says by signing this agreement you agree to waive your rights to file a lawsuit aginest EA,The NIL, NCAA,NFL & NFL PA if We EA choose to incorporate features like import draft classes for use in madden titles

This would protect everyone in the contract clause from getting sued they can add it but not sure they will however

This is how you can insure that anyone looking for a quick buck can't get a quick cash grab erasing any fear in getting sued..

It sucks they would have to go this route but it's the best way to cover yourself The player don't have to sign the contract but This clause needs to be added in!!

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. You can put anything you want in a contract, but that does not stop you from being sued. Now the clause could be legally sound, but they can still be sued. They may win, but that doesn’t really matter because being sued is really expensive even if you win and I’m sure that is the primary reason for handling this in the way that they are.

I keep seeing people post / say this, but you are completely ignoring that previous games exist and are still sold (with full editing options, still), a modded, ex-EA college football game has allowed full on player editing for nearly a decade (and still does right now), and EA Madden games have allowed full on player creation / editing of these same NIL kids to create draft classes and share them at will (and still does right now) - over and over and over. No CFP Union - no lawsuits - no problems - no shutting down those games or limits to any editing options.

The above facts alone seem to make any current binding, legal document with NIL kids into a farce. It seems doubtful that it would truly hold up in court. It's rather a Swiss Cheese contract, and, yeah, being full of holes does allow for either party to get really scared and noncommittal in however many ways. As short sighted as just these specific legalities are coming to light, I myself want to read the full contract. It may end up after reading it in full, that anyone better informed would personally want a way better legal team involved. It's starting to feel like, okay, I can understand now, how a kid like Arch Manning (who definitely has solid legal behind him) didn't sign on.

Something else, you aren't putting together is this: Talk has been that this contract binds these NIL kids for their entire career in college. They're not all going into the draft next year or maybe ever. So, if this contract is so binding, and editing is so taboo, we can expect no full editing for the next 4 years worth of games, as well. And to the contrary, if it suddenly changes in any of the next 4 years, then you know how Swiss Cheese that contract was because it was so easily redone or rescinded (with all of them).

Any legal document worth its salt is quite detailed, very wordy and extremely thorough. So, one way or another, things aren't adding up to match the level of intelligence that should go into such a document. Things don't add up to what we're being told can't be allowed. Not yet, anyway.

Yeah, EA doesnt have a generic option with Madden, I dont see them doing any different with CFB.

Couldn't you just start one and then sim a few years? I know it would start in 2028 or whatever, but that seems like it would solve the problem.

I will def do this IF we get full edit powers for computer-generated players.

You will not be able to start with a completely generic roster, and exporting the draft class to Madden is not an option. This has been confirmed.

This is my hopeful workaround. But it is also still up in the air if we will be able to edit name/appearance/height/weight/position/ratings of the generic recruits. There is a thread dedicated to this topic already with a lot more detailed discussion of this stuff so if you have more questions they have likely been discussed in there. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have based on my limited knowledge of the game though, just keep in mind that none of us have the detailed specific answers that you're likely looking for.

The problem is, sim 5 years into the dynasty and you only get 25 years 😂

This is what I was going to say. Just sim 5 years and you start fresh. I assume you can edit future players to your heart's desire.

We hope so! I won't assume anything until we know for sure.
