Re: College Hoops 2K10
Unfortunately it looks like the tide has past on this great series. Lets cross our fingers and hope another company steps forward to build a college game. Unfortunately I think EA has a pseudo-exclusive license with the NCAA that they aren't calling exclusive for fear of backlash.Comment

Re: College Hoops 2K10
Take-Two doesn't care about the Sports Division...
So the answer is no, heck no, and no 10x later.
CH series is gone. Until 2ksports and visual concepts can find another publisher who cares about them like Sega did!Comment

Re: College Hoops 2K10
I don't understand why this keeps happening. How can you make the better game and keep dropping out? I am no bashing EA sports games here they are what they are and the sell well (the buy all the rights) College Hoops 2k5, 2k6, 2k7, 2k8 were all a blast and all had steady improvement on an already great game. EA's version is getting better and I wish them all the luck to get it right I just wish that we had a choice in the matter. If all we had to choose was Coke (I love it) I don't think it would be the same if we didn't have Pepsi.Gaming hard since 1988
I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.Comment

Problem is when people hear of EA having the license now, they are quick to jump the gun on it's all their fault.I don't understand why this keeps happening. When in reality 2ksports publisher Take-Two backed out of renewing the license for another season. Saying the game wasn't profitable enough for them to pay the price.
The Collegiate league went up on the price and then Take Two backed out of the deal.
EA Sports said whatever and paid the price regardless, then when they found out 2k didn't want to make the series anymore, they made a deal for complete rights, which would allow them to do things with the game they haven't before including licenses to certain school logos and employees via coaches.
Take-Two is ruining 2ksports and something is going to have give and let give. Otherwise we will lose more from this company.Comment

Still, if you do acquire an exclusive license regardless of the circumstances, you are going to take heat when your game sucks. It just comes with the territory.Problem is when people hear of EA having the license now, they are quick to jump the gun on it's all their fault.

Re: College Hoops 2K10
Yeah you would, but the fact is NCAA Basketball 09 doesn't suck!
People are just use to 2k's gameplay engine and aren't willing to learn the differences within the two.
And the moment they can't score every point or it doesn't animate like 2k's then its knocked all over the place.
But fact is they did a great job of making a College basketball game ,that actually paces and feels like real College basketball.
But I've learned not to argue with die-hard 2k fans because no matter what. 2k is the almighty and can do no wrong.
Competition is good, but when a company people hold so trusting continues to disappoint you. I don't see how you can knock the team that still trying to give you a good experience.
Case in point, 2k willing dropped out leaving fans hanging and desiring a new title.
EA delivers a solid game, and gets kicked in the balls, because it's not up to 2k fan standards.
But as a sports gamer its just right.

Except for the 50 million 5 star recruits, the ungodly upsets (two or three 16s beating a 1 in the Big Dance), and the inability to run any type of defense except man to man to prevent getting 60 turnovers from the CPU.
Other than that, the gameplay is actually pretty dang good....if you're in it for one season of play.S.O.S. Crew

You also thought last year's March Madness was a good game. So I think with that, it's fair to say we have different expectations as to what makes a game great.Yeah you would, but the fact is NCAA Basketball 09 doesn't suck!
