Can't hit HRs

When I first started playing I could hit HRs. For example, with Manny Ramirez at legend I hit 6 HRs in 6 AB in a row. But now I've gone all the way down to amateur, and can't hit HRs with anyone.

This is PS2, so batting practice isn't possible.

The game is practically ruined because my hitting is non existent.

i just broke out of a slump with my dodgers. i was averaging about 4 hits a game for about 10 games. sometimes u just go through slumps.

take ur time at plate. like with a hitter like Manny, sometimes u get greedy cuz u know he is such a good hitter and can crush any pitch out the stadium. just wait for a good pitch to hit. dont chase 0-2 breaking pitches. dont look for HR's, look to get hits and HR's will happen.

Man, I'm going thru the same thing with the HR's. Its weird though because with me, I was hitting a bunch before the patch, even leading the league in my pre patch franchise. Now I'm the Dodgers, after the patch, and I am last in the league in HR's.

But IN NO WAY is the game ruined for me.....just makes it more challenging.

I had gone through the same thing (post patch). Before the patch, i wasnt raking but i was hitting at a good clip with some HR's mixed in at a normal rate. Post patch, the first few games i couldnt hit or go yard. But after a few games, i broke out of what was a slump and hit 5 HR's in 2 games and am back to being at a decent rate for hits and HR;s

So you definitely think its just a slump and nothing to do with the patch?? I sure hope so. Then again, maybe it's because I'm playing as the Dodgers....before the patch it was the Marlins. I guess the Marlins have more power thru their lineup.

I know with Cabrera for the Tigers, I don't hit many HR's because I press when he's at the plate. The pitcher isn't going to throw him any meat pitches either. At least on Legend they'll nibble on him, but you have to get deep in the count before you see something good to hit. If you chase the first couple pitches, no way you are getting a HR that at bat. Problem is its hard to lay off some those.

Even the meat pitches don't go for HRs. I created a player with 99 contact and power. Last night I kept replaying the same exhibition game at the lowest difficulty (PS2.) At least ten times on a pitch that was tipped to me (when it shows the location and speed) right down the middle, it was a weak grounder to second or short.

I'm going through the same thing, but it's been after the patch. I can't hit any HR's at all after patch. Before the patch I was rocking them all day.

Sounds like there may be something to this. Too many people experiencing the same thing. Doesn't make the game any less fun though. I may put my power all the way up since it seems to definitely be an issue and just not me.

Something else I've noticed with HR's after the patch. I hardly ever hit one now that is a no doubted.....where my batter stands at the plate admiring his work. Before the patch, probably every other one I hit was a no doubter. I think I've hit 15 in 19 games and only 1 of those was a stand and admire it shot.

LOL, funny thing is I was under the same impression until last night. I clocked 3 homers in one game and then the next two had at least 1. It's just a slump, it happens chief.

I turned up contact, power, solid hits etc. all the way. The first pitch I saw was a no doubter HR. Now, after three more games, not another HR. At first a lot of doubles, but now it's all ground balls - singles at best.

I started a Cubs season, post-patch, and hit seven in a three-game set against the Astros. I am playing on All-Star difficulty. I moved my contact slider up to clicks and power up one.

That may be my problem as I have my contact slider at 0. I have power at +2 and solid hits at default. I've found that with my contact at default I get too many hits. So I guess I'm just going to have to live with less HR's. I would rather have that than 15 hits per game.

I just recorded one of these yesterday in by Brewers franchise. Jeremy Jefferes was getting roughed up in the set-up role, with 2 on no outs and a 3-2 count. With runners on the go, There was a sharp grounder to Gamel at 3rd who tagged the runner coming to 3rd, threw it to 2nd, and Rickie Weeks finished it off with a clean throw to 1st. Funny this is, I had just checked the bullpen to see if Jorge Julio was ready yet cause I was banking on Jefferes giving up at least 2 runs if he stayed in and I was up 1 run top 8.

Pre-patch - at least 1 HR per game, would see the animation where you knew it was gone immediately off the bat too.

Post-patch -I cant hit one for anything. Ive played at least 10-15 games without hitting a HR. I have even bumped the power slider all the way up for the last 4 games and once again zero HR's. And since no HR's, I havent not once seen the animation immediately off the bat that it was a HR. Computer hits em fine, but not me.

What gives fellas?
