Remember when this board had twice the traffic of Madden?
What happened? I know Madden got a huge influx of people when people found out the devs were on here. But I remember getting on here last year sometimes and seeing 200+ viewing the NCAA board, and like 96 people viewing the Madden board.

I have been wondering the same thing. This forum used to be electric! I know when the "Who has it and where did you get it?" thread and the "Official NCAA '10 Impressions" thread gets started (will ODogg be a major contributor this year? :winkWhat happened? this spot should be back to normal. Oh, and the demo impressions will bring out the masses again.

Re: Remember when this board had twice the traffic of Madden?
I think it's because of the growth of OS. Most of the longtime members here preferred NCAA, but we've seen a ton of newbies in the last year on this site and most of them seem to be Madden fans, as it is in the general public where Madden sells far more copies.Comment

I agree.
The most concerning stat is the % of bitchers lately. Reportedly 98% of the people visiting the NCAA board hate the game.Comment

I think it's the negativity, the whining, and the apparent lack of rational thought, personally. The game hasn't even come out yet and it's being touted as a bust and a failure already. You can't go two posts with seeing a post that bashes NCAA 10. So a lot of folks, myself included, don't spend a lot of time here anymore because the negativity is like being in a female dorm when they all have their periods. It stinks and I get no joy out of it.Last edited by whatcha; 06-07-2009, 07:01 PM.Comment

Re: Remember when this board had twice the traffic of Madden?
Last year I would see the same results that I typically am seeing this year. About twice the number of people in the madden board. I rarely ever if ever saw more people over here than on the madden board.
Madden is a more popular game. In fact it is one of the best selling of all video games every year.Comment

I don't come around as much because of the negativity around here. Maybe it will improve once the game is out... but it seems that the real content on the board is drown out by some posters who feel the need to post the same complaint in every thread, no matter the thread topic."The only time you loosen your hands around an opponent's throat is to get a better grip."

Re: Remember when this board had twice the traffic of Madden?
Hard to say what the real reason is, but I suspect traffic on the football forums (maybe all forums) is just down in general since we're now into a 5th year of just one football game...I know 2K's college game was never a real threat to NCAA (although I kinda dug it!), but just having 2nd options for each sport made it so there was real meat to talk about. Now, it's basically "here's EA's offering for the year...." and that's it. I'm not gonna re-open the monopoly can-'o-worms again since we've all been over that ad nauseum, but I thought at the time the exclusivity stuff happened that I would be coming here less and less, and that has turned out to be true. But the passion I used to have for football games has been more or less snuffed out in the last couple of years....
It's either that, or maybe I'm just gettin' old and not as passionate about my sports games any more?Comment

I would say closer to 99.2%.....which is what normally happens when you consistently put out a crappy game.
NCAA is especially egregious though. They turned a great, reputable run of football games into shells of themselves.-Rocky Balboa"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. OK so when has making in educated guess based on detailed info and gameplay pics and vids an "apparent lack of rational thought"?I think it's the negativity, the whining, and the apparent lack of rational thought, personally. Re: Remember when this board had twice the traffic of Madden?
I am going to love this year ncaa like I did 09. I am getting both madden and ncaa 10. Both of them are going to rock. But year it is asham to see this forum been with less people. But it should pick up once people get their hand on the demo in a few weeks.Comment
