    Ohio State Vs. USC

Anyone picking OSU in this year, I'm shocked everyone is going with USC so far. A freshman going into THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY and beating us I just dont see it happening. Hopefully Tressel keeps Pryor in the whole game and calls some agressive plays and we have a chance.

    I'm taking OSU-24 USC-14

It's probably because that freshman isn't going in there by himself. I'd be as happy as any OSU fan if they beat USC but I don't see it happening.

Let's go Bucks. We just don't have the linemen to hold our own. We'll have to play almost perfect if we want to win. With that said I'll go with USC 31 OSU 14.

Game won't be won or lost by a freshman QB. It will be won or lost in the trenches, same as it was last year.

Whoever's offensive line plays better, will probably win..

Damn, Carroll got Bill Withers to come down? That's hot. That USC player sounds terrible though. Gotta love the camaraderie.

Basically this. When did our defensive line get so good that ESPN is hyping it all the time? They didn't do anything last year and neither did our offensive line. If USC dominates the line of scrimmage this year like they did last year it's going to be a long day.

                Re: Ohio State Vs. USC

I still haven't seen enough of these teams to make a prediction. The only thing I really know is USC returns the entire offensive line that completely dominated the Buckeye front 7 last year.

If OSU is ever going to beat an opponent like this, this is the game. USC is on the road, playing a true freshman in his 2nd start, and missing Ronald Johnson. If OSU doesn't win this game, who knows when they are going to beat a big time opponent.

USC's defense has 3 keys. Stop the run, get to the QB, and force turnovers. So OSU must establish the run. If they do that, then it also kills USC's ability to get to the QB. If OSU can't run the ball and is in 3rd and long's all day, where Pete Carroll can unleash his aggressive blitzing defenses it could be a long day for the Buckeyes. Ball security is also a must. The Trojans feed on turnovers, don't give them more momentum by handing them the ball. That's when they go for the jugular.

I give OSU a fighting chance to win this game. I believe USC should win this game on talent, but I would in no way, shape or form be surprised if OSU were to win.

OSU had trouble with Navy's midget O-line.

How do you think they'll handle USC's?

So one player means that USC is going to lose? Are you serious? Look at USC's defense. OSU's O-Line is terribly slow and if they play like they did last week, they will get manhandled the entire game by a much more talented USC front seven. Games are won in the trenches, and USC has a distinct advantage.
Not to mention Taylor Mays and USC's ridiculously good defensive backfield which will shut down OSU's pass offense.
This game may be more competitive than last year, but I still see USC winning this game by at least 14.
As much as I want OSU to win, it's just not happening.

Its not just any player man, its the quarterback, its the most important position on the field if OSU D causes him to throw picks and make mistakes then we can put all are guys in the box to help stop the run.

He probably won't have to throw. USC will just manhandle us up front and run all day on us. They'll probably avg. like 6-7 yards a carry today. If and a big if, we can stop USC's run then I think the game will become interesting. That's the only way this game will become entertaining. Otherwise, it will be a blowout.

Ok lilbently, but whats to say just because he's a freshman that he won't have a good game? It's tough for a guy like him to go into the Shoe and play a good game, but to be honest I think he will have a decent game. Don't just think he'll be the only one making mistakes, because Pryor can be a sloppy QB. He nearly handed Navy a win last week.
and I would have to slightly disagree, that any given position is the most important. It takes a team to win a game, not one player. USC has playmakers all over the place, you can't go wrong. OSU just doesn't have the talent to beat this USC team.

But doesnt that make sense? I know the QB isnt the only player on the team, duh. But the if we can rattle the freshman and make him throw int's and eliminate their passing game, your telling me OSU still doesnt have a chance?

USC is a better team in the trenches then OSU but with no passing game i dont think USC can run all over OSU.
