The DNA Update Thread: Made Fresh Daily

I figured we can get a thread going on all things DNA.

    Who looks like an alien?
    Who can't miss three pointers?
    Who NEVER dribbles left?
    Who is a generic?
Who put the bomp in the bomp she-bomp she-bomp?

The second update was released today to world wide fanfare.
Kim Jong Il intends to discuss the Timberwolves update [hes a big Kevin Love fan. who would've thought he was, with a name like 'love'?] during a summit this evening.

    What do you guys see?

-Jrue Holiday looks completely wrong and generic
-Louis Williams is rated worse than Jrue and his Jumpshot is completely off

      - Devin Harris (New Jersey), Mike Miller (Washington), Keyon Dooling (New Jersey), Ronald Murray (Charlotte), Leon Powe (Cleveland), Carlos Arroyo (Miami), Jarvis Hayes (New Jersey), Pops Mensah-Bonsu (Houston) are Free Agents in the game for some reason.

I feel bad for Nets fans... no Harris, Dooling or Hayes.

      - Just finished playing my first game with the Nuggets. Glad they updated the line-up to include Joey Graham as a starter; going to take me a few games to feel really comfortable with the new rotation. Didn't really notice much of a difference when playing with Billups, Anthony & Nene, but it did seem as though J.R. Smith's shot % has been toned down. I also don't get why Kurt Looby was added to the Nuggets roster now, after being cut a few days ago. And Ty Lawson needs to be taken off the IR and replaced by either Johan Petro or Malik Allen... especially after his performance against the Lakers last night.

              Agree on the FA's.
              Knicks:
              - Crawford & Hunter were released earlier in the week, they need to be 86'd.
              - Gallo needs a pic and a makeover
              - Marcus Landry needs to be added
              - Toney Douglas needs a pic

I was not paying attention but did you notice if they slapped some tats on Chandler?

I think this update was to address some of the glitch issues and make a few changes to help the game play better versus actually working on player stats and such.

Re: The DNA Update Thread: Made Fresh Daily

Got a chance to play a couple games from the DNA update online. Still the same thing, probably even worse now. No difference whatsoever. I don't understand how Rip can miss wide open 15 footers (his money shot), yet people can come down with Billups, Nelson, etc with no talent or skill whatsoever with heavy D in their face and pull up from 2 feet beyond the 3 point line and it's cash more often than not.

Defense on the perimeter is totally irrelevant in this game I don't care what anyone says. Having a hand in a mans face, playing him close, contesting the shot does not matter, it's all %'s.

Also got the new line ups in the game but the first dead ball guess what happens? Subs out K.Brown and puts in CV.

I'm done until the patch drops and hopefully it's fixed within the patch. They also need to fix the icon passing cause as of now it's takes forever in a day to get the ball to who you want to get it to. Freestyle passing is how icon passing should be, it's a lot more fluid and you can get the ball goes to the guy quicker. Also need to change the button arrangements for off ball control. I don't use that stuff and as of now when I do the icon passing 85% of the time I'm switching off to control that guy instead of passing it to him.

                    Have fun.

Apologies for making the other thread.

I dont know about that. I played one dude who was trying to get that cheeseball 3 off and it was not dropping anywhere near the same frequency as they used to drop before this update. Maybe he sucked or I got better but it definitely wasnt like it used to be. Could probably still use just a little more tweaking.

Oh well. At least he throws it down like Chandler.

Just played the Pacers, defense still does absolutely nothing on the perimeter.

He would walk up with Granger, slowly step into his "spots" not caring that my defense is right there, then jack up a contested shot I could never block, even when flying at him with Josh Smith. End result is 10/21 from 3 and he hit the game winner with him too.

I missed 3 wide open 3s with Joe Johnson in the last 2 minutes too, since you know, he's only a 36% shooter from 3 and I had already knocked down a couple. Being wide open does nothing for that...

They really need to tone down the blocking too. Being tall =/= being a good shot blocker. Dunleavy Jr. blocked 3 dunks...2 from Josh Smith, one of which he magically got from 3 feet behind him on a fast break.

                            Got to love it...

Hopefully one of the devs will chime in with what was tweaked and fiddled with in this DNA update.
But I don't think D. Rose was on the IR in the last one and he is now, but no Knicks roster moves were made, which makes me unsure of what the focus was in this one.
                              We shall see.
