COACH YOUNG ANNOUCNES STARTING 5 With just 10 players on the roster, Coach Young split the squad into 2 teams for the Hornets Nest Midnight Showcase. Gold and Green Gold PG-5'10 SR Sultan Toles-Bey SG-6'3 JR A. Proctor SF-6'3 SO J. Groom PF-6'9 JR J. McCarver C-6'8 JR A. N'Diaye Green PG-6'3 FR J. Carbajal SG-6'3 FR K. Groom SF-6'5 JR W. Jackson PF-6'6 JR Z. Nelson C-6'7 JR M. Owayed Coach Young Comments from the game. "Well the Gold dominated which we assumed they would. They are the projected starters, they have the most expierence and they had the height advantage down low. Owayed showed he will be a focal point of the bench filling in at the 3,4, and 5 spot and Nelson showed he can also played multiple spots and will battle Dickson for the starting SF spot. Our lack of 3pt shooting will force us to move the ball down the court quickly and look for easy transition baskets for McCarver and N'Diaye." |

HORNETS STRUGGLE UNDER COACH YOUNG Sacremento State lost 79-71 in their home opener to UC Riverside, then traveled to Cheney Washington to play in the Polar Bear Classic where they proceeded to drop 3 straight (IUPUI 78-52), SC Upstate (68-60) and Delaware St (66-61) The Hornets however returned home to California pulling out a 72-64 win over Pacific bfore beating Santa Clara at home 85-64 for their first 2 wins of the year. However the goodtimes ended as CSSU lost 74-61 to San Jose State to close out the month of November with a 2-5 record. HORNETS WIN NON-CONFERNCE TOURNEY!! Thanks. 1st time ever trying to play with Sacremento State. Normally I mess with the rosters until I get EWU on the closed list, but didnt' feel like taking the time. I also use to run with Northern Colorado alot with the old rosters from 08. Being a westcoast guy I like using teams from the Big Sky/Big West/WAC/MWC/WCC and Pac-10. My hopes with this legacy is to move on to a WCC school and give Gonzaga and SMC a run for their money. however should the ability to take over BSU come available I would jump at the chance to go dominate the WAC. I would then like to take over a Pac-10 school like Cal, OSU,ASU or my dream job WSU. |
