NCAA Football 12 Custom Playbooks, 40 Total Formations, 15 Off. and 15 Def. Playbooks
 

The Gaming Tailgate has posted all sorts of NCAA Football 12 custom playbook information. Here is a bullet list, but head on over to get more details.

• Total plays - The max number is 377, but it varies between 370-377 based on the team's base playbook.
  
• Playbooks - 15 on offense 15 on defense
  
• 40 formations total
  
• Can be used in Online Dynasty and ranked/unranked online games
  
• Goal line and Special teams are in each playbook
  
• ...Also, I found this to be pretty handy, but your Custom Playbooks will show up after the Z's and before the A's in the order at the team selection screen. I think this is handier than alphabetical order because it will group all of your custom playbooks back-to-back so you can easily go from one to the other (when you have defaulted one of your custom playbooks as your default playbook).
  
• ...unfortunately there won't be any easy way to share custom playbooks. I'm not sure if you will be able to transfer save files or something between consoles or not but there is no dedicated online sharing like rosters has.

As I understand it you're both correct. The limit is 400 plays-but that includes 23 universal special teams and goalline plays that you cannot customize.

So r u saying that we can't choose between regular goalline and say goalline power I? And where did you get the additional info?

You can't change the type of goaline, but you could start with a base playbook and remove all the formations except goaline.

As for your question, yes you can. I'll let the TGT guys explain:

Q: I know the goal line formation is locked, but can you choose which goal line formation to use? in NCAA 11 there were about 2 or 3 different goal line formations(tight, normal, power I, etc..).

A: No. The only way to choose which goalline formation you wish to use would be to start with that team's base playbook (ie start with Florida to get the Wishbone goalline).

Q: So the answer is actually Yes. Just make sure to pick the team's Base playbook with the goalline formation you want. The way I understand it you could then delete the rest of the entire playbook and insert an entirely different playbook and still keep the "special" goalline formation.

A: You are correct... you just can't modify the goalline further once you're inside customizing that playbook.

Dude you r a wealth of knowledge. One more question. Once you pick a playbook to customize r u bound by it's methodology? I.e. I would pick VaTech's playbook to have goalline power I. Do I now have to have a pro style playbook? I will read further when I get off work.
