Field Degradation IS IN THE GAME

Finally, after a while, i got an answer (in case you hadn't read my last post about this)

@EAMaddenNFL was field degradation finished and added or not? answer please!

@ECpackers yes, you will notice field degradation in the game. Looks really good too.

there you have it....something that was added...removed, and then re-added. except they haven't talked about it 1 bit. a bit odd.

Well were not gonna see anything like that, but you can see the field degrade throughout the game, nothing special, just brown spots that weren't there before ect. Much like in ncaa

It's very much so in the demo (at least on the 360). Sometimes a players foot will create a divot in the field.

Soldier field is a joke in the game too!

i saw quite a bit in the demo. from the divots, to the grass browning up from excessive running in the same area (kickoffs).

If this is what you think field degradation is, you're going to be disappointed. Fields IRL rarely degrade like that, and I bet they won't in madden.

did you guys not play madden 07/08? its already been in the game, and has been re-added.

i doubt player foot divots count as field degradation.

It was ridiculously exaggerated in 07 and 08. Fields almost never look like that now. I get the feeling you're going to be posting an "EA lied to me!" thread come august 30th.

A divot is an example of the field degrading. Degradation is anything that makes the field look worse than when you started. It does NOT necessarily mean huge rain puddles.

Yes and it was horrible, this isnt playing on a highschool football field, and we wont see that in madden again.

You're still missing the point. Field degradation is about the field getting beat up a bit by cleats, tackles, etc. While rain may play a part, it is not required.

From what I saw in the demo I like the way it is now and I hope to god that they don't over exaggerate it like in years past. Today's NFL fields rarely degrade due to the fact that the drainage systems are excellent and the grounds crew have much more to work with. I even think it is over done in NCAA 12, you very rarely see a field turn brown at the end of the game even if it's raining out. If you're looking to see puddles, foot divots remain the entire game you are not going to see that. So with that said please EA leave it the way it is now!!!!!

For me the grass has to be more turf like in my opinion in general. it looks like sometimes the player detail is overpowered by the detail of the grass.

It should look more solid less patchy even still

right now it looks fluffy kind of all green and a bit patchy. BUT ,much better than in years previous, but i like last years a bit more

Now that you have their ear regarding the field, can you please ask why the fields are all splotchy when they shouldn't be?

Even dome teams in Madden that play on a carpet of turf have big brown and black pixelated patches on their field. This does not exist in real life. Completely ruins the visuals of players and gameplay because it's too much visual dissonance in the background.
