real life HEAT vs 2k12's HEAT

people love to complain that 2k made the Heat overpowered with James and Wade just using turbo and doing whatever they want but after watching the heat's first 4 games (2 preseason/2 reg season), i'd say they got it right. ive been watching their games thinking "damn that was a 2k cheese move he just did" and they was doing it so easy too. whether its wade blocking everything, wade & lebron auto fastbreaks where its a bucket everytime, lebron coming fullcourt and pulling midrange shots in the defense's face, or that sticky magnetic miami D where u can't get separation, they do it all in real life. i almost threw my controller at the screen until i realized my xbox was off and i was watching a real game. lol. also one thing i did notice though was that when teams went 2-3 zone, the heat looked lost, just like in 2k12. lol.

The problem is, the heats success is tied to skill, not turbo and game imbalances.

I feel like the real life Heat are a step of most other teams right now. They seem to have brushed off any lockout "fat" and are storming out of the gate. Give it about a month and see if your statement still holds true.

Although I feel like there's not many teams that will be able to touch the Heat this year, unfortunately.

It takes a lot of skill to be cheesy in real life

And yeah they really look invincible right now. It's almost like other teams are playing old school basketball with legends from the past when they play the Heat.

Yes the Heat look great but they blew another lead to Boston and look lost in a zone defense, the good part is because of their new fast break offense they build huge leads so they can afford to lose some leads but I would love it if they kept a lead at some point, and Go Heat
If you cant take the Heat get out of the kitchen!!

The Heat were lucky last night that Boston did not have their closer Pierce, after they got back in the game the looked lost and made bad decisions.

I wouldn't worry too much. It's their first year with this new offense, and they've only been using it for 2 games. Of course there are going to be some speed bumps along the way, but Spoelstra should be able to fix these things.

^^^ Norris Cole's hot streak did a lot to secure the win, too. I expect his ratings to go up. If his first two games and preseason aren't a fluke then he's a steal.

if people played on 2k12 online the way the heat play irl, they would get called cheesers lol.

I guess you could say Boston's zone "worked", but if you consider the nice open looks Miami got that weren't knocked down plus the shots Cole did knock down, you could argue that the 2-3 is a far worse strategy. Zone defense is generally garbage anyway, it's just that the Heat (like most teams) doesn't see it very often and it's a little awkward. The way to beat Miami is to make shots (the inbound helps stall) and have EVERYONE run back like a madman. Boston only did half of that. When Cole is out there and Bosh is at center, they are insanely fast, so you can't crash boards or watch your shot. You have to commit to stopping the fast break at all times.

Young, well-conditioned teams will fare better.

So, you truly believe that lebron can run at full speed on D and Offense, score forty points and 35 shots irl... all in twenty minutes. No, I am all for the Heat playing up tempo and getting more steals than most teams, but guys online are using turbo to make up for a lack of anything close to a realistic basketball related strategy. Its not as bad with the patch but I still think that, especially on defense, guys are able to make up for being sorely out of position by turboing around everywhere. There should be more of a long term (within those 20 minutes) penalty for bad management of play time and turbo.

Just imagine if 2K's speed ratings meant anything. Right now, everyone sprints at the exact same speed which is totally broken but it's actually one of the few things that balances a game against Miami a little.

And here they almost lose to the Bobcats...how do you replicate that?

Heat fans would be squealing with rage at 2k if you could ever have a bad night like Wade.

I might agree, but that was life imitating 2K last night.

You're the Bobcats playing the Heat in association. You get a nice lead on them, doing everything right, getting every call and catching some lucky breaks to boot... until the third quarter. The Heat quickly erases your big lead and it goes back and forth to the final seconds. You hit a go-ahead 3 with time running out and Wade still finds a way to hit a tough angle shot for the win.

                              CPU cheese right there.
