Future of Baseball on the xbox?
I thought RBI Baseball might be the game for Xbox, but it's just not enough and really isn't good in depth baseball game for Xbox owners. Does EA start to come into the playground now? or can Xbox and Sony put there differences aside and get The Show onto Xbox? Thoughts?Tags: None -
Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
I think that during the life cycle of the XB1 we will see a true MLB game. Whether it's EA, MS, or someone else. Judging by the way MLB handled 2K13 it shows they really want a game on the Xbox consoles. And I don't think they will be satisfied with RBI being that game.
I can pretty much guarantee The Show will never be on Xbox. It has nothing to do with differences, its a first party Sony product. It would be like Mario on Xbox. Not gonna happen.Last edited by PVarck31; 03-16-2014, 03:09 AM. -
Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
I think someone will eventually make something for the system. EA seems like the logical choice. I don't know what kind of relationship Konami has with Sony so far as exclusivity goes but it would be nice to see them do an MLB game for the One.Comment

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
I doubt MLB cares anymore if there is a baseball game on xboxone and xbox will be obsolete in a year or two. Unless of course they want to make some money!
It was different last year with 2k13 because people bought the xbox knowing there was a baseball game on it already with 2k but now being a new console people simply can opt for the ps4 and the show if they want MLB baseball. I mean it's not as if MLB has some sort of investment in Microsoft.Last edited by Will I Am; 03-16-2014, 12:44 PM.Comment

In the end..i weighed the differences..PS4 more powerful, PS4 more developer-friendly hardware, PS4 better first party studios, PS4 cheaper, PS4 has the best baseball game on this earth and MLB The Show on PS4 is going to knock the socks off people soon. Again..the "cost factor"....i jumped shipped ..i did the math ahead of time knowing Xbox One was not going to have a good baseball game for atleast the first few years...takes time to make a solid franchise....so while i was once a loyal xbox gamer..i am now back with Sony and PS console and you know what? Im glad i made this move..after weighing the "cost factor" .
MLB The Show will never be on its competitor's system....there must be things kept for competition for each manufacture...MS has their ACEs and Sony has theirs....Sony's various studios are superior imhoLast edited by Moegames; 03-16-2014, 02:06 PM...You win some, you lose some

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
MLB The Show is not just a great baseball game, it's a system seller! No way on earth it would appear on XBOX1. There are so many people who bought a PS4 because of the Show. I used to be an XBOX guy but after the 2k baseball mess I crossed over and bought a PS3 in 2009 solely because of The Show and that was the reason there was no hesitation when it came to Next gen, PS4 because of The Show.
After seeing the screen shots of R.B.I Baseball, I feel sorry for any baseball lovers who went XBOX1.Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

The exclusivity license expired. I would almost guarantee that some company, probably EA, is working on a next gen baseball game for either 2015 or 2016.Comment

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
The fact that RBI is making a comeback after decades? makes me believe that EA could make a comeback with triple play (oops) I mean MVP baseball. I guess it will all come down to resources and payoff for them as it does for any game company. How much $ is in it potentially, how long will it take to make a game that can complete with the show etc.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
You know whats odd, in years past we always hear how baseball is niche or not overly popular and wouldn't sell well. EA used that excuse awhile ago when asked about a newer MLB title for 2014 season, yet the sport has never been this popular, just the other day talks of grossing 9 BILLION yearly in earnings. I no longer by that whole it wont sell excuse. Hopefully EA will smarten up or already has. Hands down even if it were basically a port of MVP 05 with better graphics and new rosters would outsell NBA LiveComment

Re: Future of Baseball on the xbox?
The Show will never be on XBOX. Just like Halo will never drop on PS. But if Konami would release a NA game I think it would be great. They could drop a MLB version like PYS and double dip with the power pro series. I know a lot of us, would buy both.
EA could comeback into the mix too. And honestly that is probably the best option for xbox right now to have any hope of seeing baseball in the next couple of years.
At this point it is wait and see though.XBOX: Orangeug1ad
