[HELP PLEASE] Need to change a OLB to DT midseason.
We just started a new league and my OLB is a much better DT but of course this cant be done until offseason. I have seen someone do it before by changing to an owner or firing the coach or something. Anyone know the workout to position changes mid season?

I *think* you can change an OLB to MLB during the season. MLB usually show up on the DT depth chart.

Can only be done in offseason. Your OLB will show up on the DE depth chart though. Maybe shift your DE on the DT chart and OLB to DE until then?


Yes, offseason change you change by OLB>DE>DT. Wont he be really small for a DT position though?

I'm hoping we are given more control in 17. There should be absolutely zero reason to restrict position changes and formation package player personnel. I forget which Madden but we were actually able to set our special teams roster. Why would they remove this? No idea

Restricted movement of players in CFM occurred originally to stop abuse of the player season goals, so you are locked into a goal at a position, and then with recent editions of the CFM they at least allowed movement in the offseason as there were no goals (and introduced some penalties last year, like speed drop for moving a WR to TE). They'll unrestrict in-season movement if there is a progression system implemented that can allow for this.

They'll unrestrict in-season movement if there is a progression system implemented that can allow for this.

I don't like that they mess with a player's speed like that. Just make opposing defenses smart enough to realize there's a WR playing for some crazy reason as a TE to make any adjustments necessary. Treat it no different than a WR on the field who is oddly lined up on the line of scrimmage. For online play. If your opponent has a WR at TE. Show it as a TE but highlight TE in a different color to explain it is only a WR. In real life, no team is going to confuse a WR with a TE and continue to put a LB on him or give mismatch defensive plays.

because developing CB is next to impossible, i move them OLB during the offseason and spend their XP before moving them back to CB.

Fletcher Cox is a 300 lb OLB with 97 power moves. Trust me he is a better DT than OLB

He's a DT/DE by default (and moving him back makes sense) >> Unless I completely missed it I was under the impression you wanted to move a ''natural'' OLB to DT.

With that being said depth chart / formation subs may be the only way to get what you're looking for. Perhaps the 4 DE formation sub can achieve it. You can do so by moving him to the DE depth chart.

My Nickel (4 DE) sub package moves my starting DE's to both DT spots and the backups play the edge, and it is reversed in my Dime. Anything beyond that like getting him there in a base 4-3 / 3-4 could work very much the same way.
