Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
Not looking for a god play or play book just curious to see what kind of running plays everyone has been having the most success with in 17.

I Have FounD O1 Traps To Be Consistent But Not spectacular. Any run such as stretch, toss, strong power to an empty wr side work pretty well. -

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
I love running mostly out of the I and single back ace formations, but there's one play I use every now and then that works if the NT is playing a 1 technique on the center and you flip it the right way - Gun slugs HB Wham. The TE goes into motion right before the snap and traps the NT. If you do it right, it's like an easy 5 yards every time.Comment

It varies for me but ill say sweeps never really work. Outside handoffs work with pretty good . No specific plays that I can think of. Its mostly situation in my case and depends on the running backs speed

Read option out of the Shotgun Spread, Ive have ran it 83 times averaging 5.5 a play, just watch for cut back lanes when you hand it off to the running back. Also, HB base and HB off tackle are good out of Shotgun Trips HB Wk.Comment

I agree on the 01 Traps. These seem to be the most consistent for me. I also find decent success on the toss where the WR cracks back to block - can't recall the official name.Comment

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
For me the key is having a good run blocking fullback and at least one really good run blocking TE.
In all my CFM's my number one TE is usually a receiver or vertical threat, and he gets destroyed in the run game 65-70 percent of the time causing the runs to get blown up.
My best runs come out of 22 personnel with the FB and TE2 making the key blocks on the edge or at the second level.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
Well I have the not too speedy but heavy hitting Legarret Blount, so I don't have much success on outsid runs and tosses, I'm too slow to escape speedy MLB and OLB's.
I have better success with up the middle or just offset runs and traps. I signed some better OLine blockers to help me.
I have drafted a younger rookie who is FAST and can catch, so I use him for HB passes and tosses. He does better at it but he needs lots of skills developed. He will be way better in a year or two.Comment

I usually draft vertical threat te's so they have some physical skills but spend their xp on strength and blocking. In my last franchise I had a converted lt as fb. He was 330 pounds of rumble. For me the key is having a good run blocking fullback and at least one really good run blocking TE.

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
My favorite running play has to be the HB Power out of the I-Form Hulk/Heavy formation.
Especially against the CPU if you flip the run to the opposite side you pretty much just have to make 1 guy miss and you have an easy huge gain most of the time.

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
Sometimes it depends on your line, but:
strong I HB toss is darn close to a god play (at least with the Cowboys). It's one of 3 things for me:
-5 yard loss (20% of the time)
-no gain (10% of the time)
-Touchdown run (70% of the time, no matter how far)
I had to stop using it. Even on All-Madden it can't be stopped. I know the Cowboys line is great, but its completely ridiculous. I had 5 carries and was over 100 yards.
Also, Pistol Ace Twins, HB counter. Usually good for 5 yards a pop at minumum.Comment

Re: Which running plays have you been having the most success with?
See for me it is the opposite. I run the run n shoot playbook, no te or fb, I feel spreading the defense and getting a better hat count in the box is extremely beneficial. It also helps to make the defense bring out their dime package to match up to my receivers. It especially evident with the read option plays when the DE to the QB play side is unblocked, 90% of the time he goes for my QB because I have a fast one and it allows more of my lineman to get to the second level. For me the key is having a good run blocking fullback and at least one really good run blocking TE.

However I've tried using goal line sets in short yardage with almost no luck so I just stay in my base personal in those situation. I just had a 1500 yard rusher at 4.8 a carry.Comment
