    2018 NBA Trade Deadline

This year the trade deadline is earlier than everyone is used to. It's happening a week BEFORE the all-star break. Meaning we won't get any kind of craziness this year like what we saw 10 years ago with Jason Kidd dealt to the Mavs but still started for the East. Or even recently with the Cousins deal basically announced right after the ASG ended last year.

With the east improving and things looking like it could be more wide open, and possibly Lebrons final season in Cleveland, what kind of deals might we see coming out of the east?

And in the west, every team in the playoffs right now are likely the playoff teams come April(don't see Clippers surpassing the Pelicans,Blazers or Nuggets). So which teams in the playoffs might try to get stronger?

Then there are the non-playoff teams. So many vets on teams who aren't making the playoffs. Lopez on Bulls, Williams/Batum on Hornets, Brewer/Lopez on Lakers, Carter/Randolph on Kings, Chandler/Dudley on Suns among many others. Will we see any of these guys dealt?

Lol, like wolves would actually do that. That sounds like some 2k proposal that actually goes through.

That can't really be true. If it is then the Clipper front office is over indulging in that legal weed out here.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Teams still trying to pry the Brooklyn pick from the Cavs, however after the Nets hot start they are on pace for a 28 win season. They are 3 games away from having the worst record in the NBA.

Cavs need to give them that 2nd rounder they want along with Shump or Smith to land these two.

I think they are def a trade to be made between the Cavs and Hawks. I think Bazmore would be a good fit for the Cavs also with the hawks taking back Shump whose contract is 1 year shorter then Baze

For that haul I would assume the Nets pick is off the table, but the Cavs could upgrade that 2nd rounder the Hawks want to their own first round pick, which should be in the mid 20's.

Belinelli, Bazemore, Dedmon in exchange for the Cavs first, Frye (expiring) and Shump who you mentioned will be gone a year sooner than Bazemore. That benefits both sides.

Salary doesn't fit perfectly but the Cavs can use the trade exceptions to eat the extra 4 mil or so. They have almost 6mil from the Kyrie trade, almost 5 from the Dunleavy trade. Either of those would make this trade go through.

Also didn't realize they have another 1.3 from Kay, 2.5 From Jefferson. More flexibility going into the deadline than I thought. If they hypothetically traded Thompson and the Nets pick they could take back a 25+ mil player using all those exceptions.

Yea as a hawks fan I would def do that trade from every thing I read the Hawks should be able to get a 1st for Baze just wont be able to take on a expiring contract when they get the 1st.

If they Cavs are smart they would hurry up as I think the market for Dedmon will go up as I'm assuming Jordan isn't traded and he fits with a number of teams like the Bucks.

Per Marc Stein, the Cavs are pursuing a deal for Clippers’ C DeAndre Jordan.

And per ShamGod of Yahoo!, they’re also interested in acquiring George Hill from the Kings.

Sounds like Hornets are open to dealing Kemba Walker.

Don't know how many teams in playoffs exactly have room for him. Raptors/Cavs/Celtics/Wizards are fine at starting PG spot. Bucks acquired Bledsoe recently. Other east teams could get him,but not sure how much it'd help their chances in playoffs. West wise, obviously Warriors,Rockets,Thunder got no use for him either. I'd say Spurs might be best destination for him. Who knows what price would be, but based on salary and everything, I'd think Patty Mills would have to be one of pieces going back.

Denver is still looking for a PG, right?

I like Kemba a lot but I don't know if he would move the needle for them enough to make the playoffs. But they surely have the assets for a deal like that and they are dying to make the postseason over there.

Sounds like theres going to be a George Hil for Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye trade soon.

Edit: Miami 2nd, Rose, Shumpert, Frye for Hill + seems to be the word right now.
