Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Let's get started early so that they can take our ideas into consideration instead of giving ideas when they've already been working on it for a few months.

What are your top 5 most pressing needs for franchise to become an enjoyable experience? I'll give mine.

1) Gameplay related - Ratings need to really, truly matter, and you need to feel the difference in ratings. Even two 80 overall players should feel different depending on their individual statistics. This is key to team building, because if there's barely a difference between my All-Pro and my third string, what's the point?

2) Progression overhaul - XP is garbage. The bandaid they put onto it this year is not nearly enough, and a waste of time in my book. Rip the scab off and go to chaotic weighted progression already.

3) CPU AI - CPU teams need to make interesting and logical decisions, enough said. Progression overhaul will help this area to bring more diversity to offseason choices.

4) Presentation, presentation, presentation - Make the games feel more connected, make them feel meaningful, give the immersion that a franchise needs to feel like a franchise.

5) Coaching uniqueness - Also gameplay related. Make coaches feel unique, do they stick to their scheme, do they adapt to their team, etc.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1. Adaptive AI. I would like for the game to simulate a scouting report. So that if a user runs the same plays a lot early in a season by the end of the season the CPU is looking for that play and more prepared to stop it.

2. Randomized progression. I want to see drafted players that have huge boom or bust potential. I would like to see random players show up at the beginning of the year out of shape and lower rated than previous years.

3. Hidden gems. I would like there to be training camp surprises. Especially with rookies. Guys that just get a huge boost out of nowhere or turned out to be better than anticipated.

4. Scheme experience. I want there to be a sort of scheme rating for players. If a player plays in a scheme they are unfamiliar with I would like them to take a ratings hit based on being in a new scheme, especially in awareness.

5. Veteran Importance. As is now it only makes sense to trade players before they hit 30 and start to decline. I wish there was some sort of badges or level of importance played upon having veterans on the team. It can be in the form of the team being more disciplined overall and committing less penalties. It can be in the form of the game making it much more difficult to build up awareness. It could be in the form of a ratings boost for the team. I personally would like it to cause a progression bonus for younger players with the thinking that the veterans teach the younger players how to be a pro.

6. Player happiness. I would like to see player happiness matter more. I would like to see them steal the idea of player roles. So if you sign a guy to be a star of the offense his ratings take a hit if he's not being featured enough. Or if the team signs someone at the same position or if there are too many of the same position on the same team then their ratings suffer. If a player is unhappy about their contract have their ratings dip. On the flip side would like to see other players get a boost if they become more featured. Happens a lot in the real NFL where a team has no idea how good a player is until they put them in a featured role.

Overall just really wanting things to be less predictable as in the NFL even the most prepared teams having wrenches thrown into their seasons.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1) Coaching Carousel - The Player/Coach/GM starting point for a franchise is incredibly stale, with the ability to start at your dream job/ favorite team. Adding an OC/DC dynamic (similar to NCAA 14) where you have to grind your way to the dream head coaching job all while building up a skill tree that actually feels like it means something. This would be scrapping the 3 option skill tree coaches have now (Training XP Boosts, FA Boosts, Contract Neg. Boosts) and expand it into in-depth positional scouting, player attribute boosts (aka become a training specialist), and building on the scheme dynamic from Madden 19. Very easy to flesh out a coaching carousel, and to the report that Madden hasn't added OC/DC's because of no contract with the OC/DC union IRL, just make generic coaches like they've done/did with Belichick/Payton. Authenticity should have no bearing over adding this feature.

2) Scouting - Again in Madden 19 we've got a carbon copy of the scouting mechanic for what, 3-4 years now? Spam scouting points, unlock 3 attributes and wait for the combine numbers to cheese the system. Make scouting more risk/reward on what positions you decided to scout v/s ignore. More in-depth scouting reports (and not just lazy news stories that tell you what players get a Superstar Dev trait). Add the dynamic of finding gems ala NCAA 14. There are lots of features that can be added but in general, scouting needs a much-needed overhaul.

3) Draft Class Editor RANDOMIZER - Yeah, I don't want to spend 10+ hours making a draft class for me to just know everyone's overalls when I start the scouting process. There is a way to keep the elite players elite while still throwing a wrench into things and jumbling the players in the mid/late rounds.

4) Relocation Teams [Facelift] - Similar to the OC/DC we got word from Madden dev's that essentially the contract with the NFL limits their ability to add more relocation cities but I'm skeptical that affects their ability to modify the currently approved relo cities. The same jerseys/logos/color combos for the last few games makes it incredibly uninspiring to want to relocate a team in CFM because it's been the same every year for a while now. If we can get new cities, give us new teams....if we can't get new teams at MINIMUM to give us new jerseys and color schemes.

5) Build on the Scheme/Archetype dynamic - I'm actually a fan of the new system and I think it's a good building block going forward. More schemes, more archetypes, coaches having more influence on growing players within their scheme, improved weekly training, trade finder to find ONLY scheme specific players, etc.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Draft Class Editor
Website based like Team-Builder for NCAA 14. Also to allow you to write storylines for a few of the prospects.

Coaching Carousel
HC, OC, DC and position coaches (with position bonuses).

Team Chemistry
Chemistry between teammates at certain positions. QB-WR, DT-DE, S-CB.
High chemistry would allow the player to play to his true rating. NO rating bonuses, just penalties for low chemistry between players. Chemistry can increase based on amount of games played together or by a Chemistry rating that increases yearly based on years of experience in the league and awareness.

Tie Between Physical Attribute and Ratings

Save the last 9 points of an attribute rating to be assigned based on Physical attributes. 6'-5" WRs can reach 99 Jumping, 5'-9" WRs are capped at 90 Jumping.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M

This is for the top of my head for what I would want. No specific order.

1. Re-tool FA and in season contracts. Free Agency should not be a quick “buy”. It can be potentially, but it should be a negotiation process. We should also be able to renegotiate contracts to varying degree and perhaps even star players should ask to renegotiate, I can’t say they should go as far as a player actually sitting out if they don’t get a reworked contract, but it could definitely have a negative consequence in the chances of them re-signing.

2. Specific coaches (already mentioned). We should have OCs and DCs. If you want to fire your coach or not re-sign and bump the OC up, that’s impossible right now.

3. Trades need to be allow far more on the table (the 3 limit is a joke).

4. This may seem small/silly but as I said, these are off the top of my head. Bring the damn pro bowl back as playable.

5. Scouting needs a potential overhaul (IMO is should have more vague ratings and an interview feature like in Front Office Football where you get a feel for how the player is) and the scouting board should always be available. Not starting until WK 3 and then being unable to see it during parts of the season/offseason is ridiculous. Scouting is a year round deal.

Those are a quick 5 that would make me happy, but it certainly isn’t the least. I came back to Madden a few years ago, and it is disappointing to see such dedication to MUT (money maker) and not much to CFM. I understand it’s not as much quick cash, but CFM actually getting improvements that help would be amazing.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1) CPU Roster building logic - Why are the Cowboys, Saints and Chiefs in a bidding war for Leveon Bell? Why are the Bills, Ravens and Jets Drafting Qbs in the first round after the first season? Cpu Drafting, Free Agency, Progression logics needs heavy attention.

2) Expanding on Scheme Fits - Positions like RB & WR need an extra archetype that fits that scheme. No team has 3 Power backs and all Possession receivers on their 53 man roster.

3) Custom Draft Classes - This can be fleshed out much more. Edited Rookie names need to be said by the commentators to create more immersion. Also instead of being able to see the ratings when editing the class, how about using a letter grade system that would randomize their ratings with A= Elite to D=Poor.

4) Coordinators and Trainers - With the introduction of Schemes now its the perfect time to bring back Coordinators, allowing them to influence what off and def schemes we decide to run. Since there isnt a way to increase Stamina Injury and Toughness now hiring Trainers can a boost ratings for being on our staff depending on their level, something like World Class +3, Good +2, or Average +1

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

The previous posts cover my wish list for the most part. To avoid redundancy I'll just focus on one item.

#1-5) Presentation!!!! I want CFM to be a living world. Right now it's just a set of repetitive tasks with some news stories sprinkled in. I'd love it if CFM would incorporate all of the happenings and overall drama of the league into a presentation system that brings the news to the player. For the record, I strongly believe that a highlight show is NOT the solution, but more on that later.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

I’d like an offline franchise to be set up like 2k has theirs. If I want to play a game with a team that I’m not controlling in an OFFLINE franchise I should still be able to go do that and adjust things like injuries without having to take an hour to set up custom control of all 32 teams.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1) coaching carousel - I don't mind if assistant coaches are not legitimate

2) player morale - I want a higher ratef player to be upset if they are benched

3) complete overhaul of player contracts with options, holdouts etc

4) improved CPU logic

5) team styles similar to NBA 2K where teams will be in different stages such as rebuild/win it all etc and act accordingly

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1) CPU Team Management Logic Improvement - This is by FAR the #1 thing I would like overhauled in CFM. If they took M19 CFM and did nothing for M20, but tell me that they overhauled the CPU logic I would absolutely still buy the game. Here are a few major things I can think of
  • CPU logic to understand where/how they acquired their current QB and using that to dictate any decisions to "improve" the position (my next Madden research study is going to cover this)
  • Understanding which players are franchise players and have been with the team for a long time and ensuring that they make more of an effort to re-sign them
  • Trade logic in general: including CPU-to-CPU transactions
  • Managing their depth chart to account for development trait and age versus straight up overall comparison

2) Now that we have Scheme Fits and Archetypes I think we are getting closer to adding coordinators. I hope this is true as I would love to see that feature added.

3) Holdouts / Contract Restructuring Options / Yearly Cap Projections (This should be displayed in the contract negotiation screen. New players to the game have no idea how much a 7 yr $100MM contract is going to screw them in yr 7).

4) *Mic Drop* (I am not greedy, those three would make CFM the best ever)

5) *Picks Up Mic* Fine! Can we get SOMETHING adding to CFM relocation to make it more interesting, exciting, or immersive?

they read the last 5 annual threads of madden franchise wants - those 5 threads only, its all in there. we are repeating the same exercise again expecting a different outcome.

can we get madden 19 working/patched/updated first. normal copies are available in 2 days and we as a comminity have given up on m19 already?

Not giving up. Just refreshing our list so that EA Devs, EA Game Changers, and any other stakeholders can see which things stick in our minds year-to-year. The CFM updated in Madden 19 are spectacular. Plenty of other positive minded threads out here as well.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

My top 5, in no specific order:

-Get a name bank back in and make it so broadcasters can say (most) created players names. If I make a QB named John Jones, or Jeff Williams, or whatever, I should hear that and not "big bodied QB". Every other sports game has this. Not having this kills immersion and makes custom classes pointless.

-Overhaul progression so guys can improve off the field. It would be nice to see a practice squad guy climbs the ranks

-Overhaul contracts, at least so I can control the pay for each year of it. I'd love incentives, even if they're check box items (IE RB gets 1000 yards (check) and input the bonus I want to offer for it. 25 TD's (check) and input my offer, etc etc.

-Add some mystery to Free Agency so I don't always know I'm signing a stud. I want potential for a FA bust or a FA godsend without knowing beforehand.

-Get back the ability to design a stadium like back in 04 or so. If I rebuild the Cowboys stadium, I want to make another 80k+ capacity stadium, not downsize. It leaves me with the only option of upgrading it all the time to avoid rebuilding. This goes for any team, I want more capacity, not less. I want to design it like back then.

If we don't keep giving the feedback, then they don't get any direction as to what we want. That creates a self fulfilling prophecy: I won't give feedback because they won't use it and it will always be the same game...then they have no feedback, don't add features, and you complain that nothing is new. It can (shouldn't but can) take years to implement some changes. It sucks, but patience is a virtue.

I'm very excited to get 19, and plan to play it a LOT, but that doesn't mean I don't want to offer some feedback for how to improve when 20 comes around.

Contracts overhaul. This would deepen CFM a ton. It's astonishingly terrible / unrealistic currently.

Name bank for edited rookies names to be said.

Coaching carousel

Deepen FA + scouting

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1. Assistant Coaches. For the love of God, assistant coaches.

This has been the top 3 in community requests since they scrapped them. The ONLY way to keep the CFM universe deep, dynamic, and to keep the play styles evolving is to add assistant coaches. I don't just want coordinators either--I want to be able to hire position coaches as well. I don't care if the names are all fictional. Just get them in the game.

2. Improved Scouting

Holy moly is the current system awful. Why we ever abandoned the days of being able to scout for specific traits (or, hell, even the written scout's notebook) is beyond me. I'd scrap the current system entirely.

The same goes for league scouting, too. I shouldn't know that the safety I'm looking at signing is a Normal development trait with a 72 rating in zone, 70 in run support and 68 in hybrid with an 85 speed and 80 acceleration. Add a little mystery.

3. Improved CPU GM Logic

Why does Aaron Rodgers always seem to end up being a free agent? Why do teams that don't need QBs still take them in the middle of the first round? The current schemes are a good start, but they're window-dressing compared to where Madden could and should be.

4. Better News Feed

Can I stop getting spammed with blurbs about how the Cowboys worked on Cover 6 in practice this week and it didn't go well? How about a news feed that lets me know Russell Wilson just went down for the season with a fully torn PCL? Why can't I know that the week 13 matchup between the Saints and Falcons is going to have playoff implications? The halftime show in 19 is a decent start, but I still feel next to zero attachment to my CFM league as a whole.

5. More dynamic schemes and progression

I cheated to get the last two major wants in. Why can't I run a 4-3 scheme that desires man-coverage cornerbacks? Why do only possession receivers progress quickly in my zone run west coast scheme?

Why does my rookie backup QB not get any better despite having spent the year working in the NFL and learning from my veteran starter? Why is it that my rookie that starts at a 72 won't ever be more than an 85+ because he'll need to post 5 straight 1,500 yard, 15 TD seasons to progress to it?

Madden 19 was a small step in the right direction. The gameplay has improved, as it should do from year-to-year. It's time to take some MAJOR steps towards taking CFM in the direction it should be going.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

#1 Coaching Carousel: HC, OC, DC, POSITION Coaches.

#2 Scouts/Training Staff: Area scouts that are hired by GM’s or part of GM’s Staff, Trainers in charge of rehab & off-season progression. The better your GM the better the information you receive & training for your players. Also opportunities to hire & fire those staffers.

#3 CPU AI: Teams should play like themselves offensively & defensively.

Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Lots of great ideas so far!

To add to the list, more customization options should be a focus going forward.

1 - Customizing our user coaches and owners faces/bodies (current options only scratch the surface), clothes, accessories, sideline celebrations/disappointments, and offices/owners suite that we can now see on the main menu would create much more immersion! Ultimately, we are all coaches so this would also create cool
connection to our teams. The office/suite can be customized/decorated with Lombardi trophies, MVP’s, POY/ROY achievements, banners, team video highlights on a TV, etc. Also, the more you achieve in CFM the more office/suite decorative items you could unlock to outfit the office. CFM opponents could see each other’s offices/suites. Would add another layer to the competitive nature of CFM.

2 - Track CFM historical stats including championships and player awards won from each season in one specific section of CFM...maybe a league history tab.

3 - Allow access to custom playbooks and audibles within CFM so we don’t have to exit out of CFM to make adjustments to our playbooks.

4 - In the roster screen, add an all NFL tab so we can view and sort players for the entire league. This is already present when you manage rosters in the main menu settings. Carry it over to CFM.

5 - Points 3 and 4 also spoke to this...streamline the CFM menus. League/team schedule, standings, stats, training/practice, roster moves and depth charts are important and should all be on the front page. Currently navigating the menus feels cumbersome. Would love to increase the flow and efficiency of accessing certain areas of CFM. Some examples include, looking up players in the hunt for awards, viewing standings, schedules, and stats takes too many steps.

To tie it altogether, having a legitimate CFM app with full functionality to manage our teams, view the league, customize coaches/office, have a chat section to schedule games, talk smack, negotiate trades, etc would be amazing.

This is literally not possible due to the amount of data. CFM uses a completely different data management system than the front end. It's very data-heavy instead of code-heavy, and trying to display the entire league would overload your RAM.

XBox One X might handle it, I'm not sure, but there are still more consoles out there that can't.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Sorry but 5 is not enough. So just a copy and paste of my on going wishlist

1. OC/DC carousel with tie in to schemes
I want to see the additions of coordinators strongly tied into schemes and player selection for those schemes having a bigger impct than just xp bonuses

2. Injury/wear and tear system
I feel this is where a lot of the turnover comes from in the nfl. A good injury system should give us a good player turnover parody to what a typical nfl franchise goes through

3. Hide rookie ratings
I stole this idea from Deuce because it’s a great idea. There should be a number of games or snaps before you get a definitive rating on rookies. I think the rate of first rounders working out in the nfl is around 50%

4. Hot/cold streaks (DPP)
They should’ve never taken this out of Madden. It’s a good feature and it is yet another way to differentiate players.

5. Chemistry
This could be tied in with schemes. I think chemistry would force the player to construct a well devised team instead of just trying to throw the best players available together. Could also increase value of marginal players because the fit they made have with other players on your team

6. Improved free agency period/contracts
I think free agency and contracts just aren’t deep enough. Needs to be more difficult to sign players with more player interest, schemes fits and team legacy taken into account by free agents.

7. Scouting system
Again just to shallow. Not sure it’s realistic but having different scouts with different abilities to evaluate talent I think would be fun.

8. Major overhaul of gameplanning
Gameplanning shouldve of been an awesome feature but doesn’t really work properly and too shallow. Would be nice to have info on opponents schemes and typical play selection and to game plan around it

9. Improved draft
Maybe a better scouting system would improve this but just doesn’t seem to be nearly as fun as it should be.

10. Reduce reliance on stat production for progression.
Probably will never happen but would be nice to see a better system for progressing players

11. Historical stats
This is a given

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

My Top 5

1. Redesign the "League" tab. Make it look like a real sports website, NFL.com design? News, Standings, Stats, and even Mock drafts would be found on this website. Going to the league tab would zoom into your coaches computer in his office.

2. More customization. Custom news stories. This would be great for the online league guys wanting more specific/immersive stories about their team and the league. You could use snapshots taken in game. Custom draft stories would also be included. You would be able to write them up while editing a draft class. Custom mock drafts on the NFL.com website. All 32 online owners are able to submit their own custom mock draft to the website to be displayed to everyone. This last part is a stretch but fantasy football leagues in your online cfm would be so cool.

3. Coaching Carousel. Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams coordinators. I've heard some great ideas on this feature in this thread so ill just leave it at that. Bring the ability to start out as a coordinator back from NCAA.

4. Realistic Scouting. Bring over an NHL 19/MLB The Show 18 scouting feature. Scouting in Madden is pretty fun right now so id give the commissioner the option to use whatever one they want in their league.

5. Player personality. NFL players are people, not just names on a spreadsheet. Madden makes us forget this sometimes. Some free agents should just refuse to sign/resign with you. Maybe they don't like your coaching staff, team location, or the fact that you already have a good player at his position. Pre draft meetings with rookies would also tie into this feature. This would be the last step of scouting. This would subtly reveal player traits and show if the player is interested in being drafted by your team.

Thanks for reading.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

1) OVERHAULED INJURY SYSTEM

1) manual/editable injuries
2) multiple / minor / wear and tear type injuries
3) off season / practice injuries hence
4) PUP list

2) COACHING STAFF

with associated schemes / specialities and hence progression benefits

3) TRAINING CAMP AND OTAs

can simply be additional weeks of practice during the off season just as another way to gain XP out of game time stats

4) XP SLIDERS/OPTIONS TO ALLOW USER TO CHOOSE HOW MUCH XP IS GAINED BY ON AND OFF FIELD MEANS

can be set at 50/50 default but we need some means of choosing stat based or practice based progression as our user priority , keep the present XP SLIDERS to allow user tuning

5) HIDE/REVEAL SYSTEM FOR ROOKIES RATINGS

As explained elsewhere by previous posters

I could go on (editable accrued years, comp. draft picks, RFA etc) but 5 things was your format request

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

The main thing I want is randomly generated faces, as opposed to all the ones they currently have. Play a few seasons, and all of a sudden you'll have two people on the same team or more with the exact same face, who will look exactly like 10 people you are scouting, and several people on your rival. It's a shame in this day and age, the player pictures are just a hundred or so pictures of people in a league with thousands.

Another thing for people to think about is that a hide and reveal system along with team chemistry almost instantly fixes the preseason. It would give it the depth it needs and necessity of playing it.

I’m glad more people are coming around to this idea.

And what happens when a player gets upset?
Decrease chance of resigning with team?
Ratings hit?
Upsets team chemistry?

1) realistic contract negotiations:

Most should start in week 3 (same as scouting to make it easy) and players mostly take up until the offseason with negotiations unless you high ball them right away. And where players who are good players tend to want to test the market regardless of offer at the end of resigns

2) coach skill trees:

Sort of similar to NCAA. You’d have four branches to work on; 1 - game management (in game) 2 - game prep (training) 3 - Draft Scouting (scouting lol) 4 - Contract Negotiations (contract negotiations in and out of season)

3) full 90 man rosters and fake generated OC/DCs

Adding more control and realism is key. The rosters add good battles and the coordinators can provide new coaches instead of the 2-14 fired coaches going to the 5-11 team

4) historic stat tracker

Show the teams guys played for and keep track of award winners and SB winners

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Sorry if any of these points have already be hit on multiple times, but here's my wishes:

1. Position Coaches/Coordinators - My top choice simply because it'll trickle down to my other points. Position coaches is a singular feature that can add so much to the Franchise experience. The current staff needs an overhaul.

2. Stretched Ratings - The quickest way to improve Franchise mode. Currently the scheme-fit system is a bit underutilized due to how inflated ratings are. There is no reason to care too much about scheme fits when a players ratings hover around the same range. Some players, the elite, can thrive in any system. Most do not. Stretching the ratings and making players competent in only a few areas is a start.

3. Schemes - Throw away the locked scheme-fit system and use the position coaches. Each coach favors a certain type of player, so it's not only about hiring the best coach, but also the best fit.

4. Progression - XP go bye bye. Come in position coaches. Make them matter, make them important. Each coach's focus area relates to regression. Your RB Coach favors elusive backs, therefore backs have a higher chance progress in this area. Progression should still be a bit unknown, but coaches should have some influence.

5. Scouting - Simplify it and make it deeper. Currently it is shallow and tedious. Most NFL teams have roughly the same information, so no need to pick every player you want to scout. Instead focus on the Offseason. Combine interviews, Pro Days, Personal Workouts. This is where you can focus on players and find out some possible new information. Oh yeah, remember those position coaches/coordinators? Yeah, they'll be leaning over your shoulder on draft day telling you what guy THEY want.

Love your points. I'm the head of the get rid of XP train lol. Throw in some love to the offseason and this would really be like franchise jumping into a new stratosphere

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

-Improved cpu roster composition/management
-Realistic contracts. this covers everything from RFAs and 5th year options to having guys sign for realistic amounts. High end players should always be looking to set a new high water mark for contracts. Have production factor in to a player's overall, so it a 72 rated WR with 97 speed racks up 1600 yards in a contract year, he's going to get big money

If those two things were in the game I would have bought this year and that's all it would take for me to buy next year. Now my other three

-fix formation subs so that I can make subs to any formation in any set
-ditch XP
-Scrap the current scouting system. Every team should have to hire a scouting dept and some should be better than others. Let me choose what I'm scouting. Just seeing the top three attributes is unrealistic

Need to be able to say more player names in Franchise mode. It’s horrible that you can’t edit a players name without losing his audio. It gives such a more real feel when commentators call the game using thier names. I would rather more names said than listening to the same corny stories

Injury management ala NBA 2K and the show allow us to manually make injury’s so we do t have to wait 2-3 months for the correct rosters esp given how much injury’s affect in the NFL this should of been added a long time ago.

Re: Top Five Franchise wants for M20?

Absolutely no excuse for Coordinators in some form and a coaching market to not be in the game. We've had the ability to hire and fire coaches scouts and trainers for years now.......

Restricted free agency and the ability the restructure contracts hasn't been in the game since the PS2 era and it's kinda shameful tbh....

Scouting is weirdly barebones. Like 3 button clicks.....and I loved the draft stories thing when first introduced but it's gotten weaker and weaker every year.

Owner mode is technically in the game but offers little to no functionality or challenge. The older owner mode had cearting perks you could buy like holographic score boards and elite on location medical staff would be cool to bring little things like that back.

Scheme and playbook knowledge should be a rating or learned skill ala NFL Head coach on PS2. No reason you should be able to switch schemes mid season and every player knows every play or being able to trade for a #1 WR and stick him in any role in the route try despite never learning it. Having to do play install during training camp and pre season adds a fun element and makes players more valuable to certain systems and adds a dynamic to free agency (ex you hire a disciple of belichick as head coach or coordinator and players that have played in that system are more attracted to your team and you to them since the learning curve is lower for the players)

Bring back the newspaper system from PS2 Gen era madden. They did a much better job than the style twitter thing they have in giving personality to the mode and making it feel alive.

Players that retire can come back as coaches

Just straight up jack the league rules thing from NBA 2K and open for league expansion or 18 game season etc.(I doubt the NFL would allow this tbh...)

I have my doubts any of this stuff would get included and tbh I don't think EA Sports as a company doesn't really value Franchise modes in their games anymore. They aren't marketable or sexy and you can't throw them in a sizzle trailer and they don't pump out money like Ultimate Team. I mean Live has been a hot mess for years but that game also has a barebones Franchise and they seem to be trending down the path of the street ball experience so it might be a thing where the Devs might wanna do alot of this stuff but the powers at be see no value in it idk... I truly feel bad for the guys in the trenches making the game cause I'm sure they would love to beef stuff like this up.

EDIT: Another thing I really would prefer fast and responsive menus vs seeing my coach sit at his desk and cycle through 4 preset animations or a random shot of my player standing at his locker.
