This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
In these threads, most questions, concerns, and such are unanswered and no feedback is given.. Its just random questions, statements, or impressions and they're is very little discussion about anything because we just don't really go there... Posting on the main page creates better dialogue and better opportunity for people to see and isolates the discussion into an individual thread... What do you guys think.. (no question mark or they will close this and refer me to Q&A or impressions lol)

Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
I get what you are saying but think if every person took there question to the main pg your question would just get lost in the chaos same way it does in the impressions or Q&A thread. -
Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
43K views on the Impressions thread (started on 8/6)
21K views on the Q&A thread (started on 7/31)
Almost 12K views on the Bugs thread (started on 8/1)
I disagree whole-heartedly with the notion that "no one goes to these threads".Comment

Just saying, that isn't true putting mods into the title of thread.
And bcruise's point is better than mine.Comment

Fair enough and a valid point, but like I said, its mostly unanswered questions and random statements..

Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
And plenty of those posts do get buried, but at least for a moment it stands a chance of being seen by all without being tossed into page 256 of the thread.. Plus the people that go to Q&A and impressions go there with a purpose, and on the main page even though someone may not be seeking out a question or looking to voice their opinion, they may see a post that they might not have seen otherwise and have some input on it..

Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
If you don't get a reply then obviously the community didn't find the post worth responding to. If something posted in one of the mega threads actually generated enough meaningful discussion I'd have to think that one of the mods would be willing to extract it and create a thread.Comment

This post is actually a great example, had it been thrown into page 396 of some thread or would probably go completely unnoticed.. Now we haven't gotten very far in dialogue yet, but this is what I like to see and its exactly what I'm talking about.. At least sparked the platform for a topic that I just feel at least deserves a look at and see what the community thinks about it.. If I'm wrong about this then so be it but at least some people are gonna see this and weigh in on it..

Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
I have seen some heavy handed moderating on topics that clearly could be stand alone topics and I understand it's difficult for them on where to draw the line on what needs to go in a mega thread vs what can be a standalone topic. I'd like to see them err towards letting posts stand as a topic more often but that's just my personal preference as I don't visit the megathreads because it's tedious sifting through the posts to see if there's anything that I'm interested in discussingComment

Oo context I suppose lol, I'm not attacking the devs.. Not in a personal way at least, just have had some frustrating experiences lately and seen alot of other threads pushed aside as well and am just possibly suggesting some type of change... What do you guys think?

Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
The Q&A thread gets tons of views and answers. The reason it works is because of the community. We can go in there with a question, but also do our best to answer any. I've posted a few answers, and a few questions. It's almost like a "take a penny leave a penny" lol. That's how it SHOULD work.
Sure, some people just dump a question and nothing else, but lots of people give answers. People need to be willing to read a bit, answer what they can to clarify for others, and post their question. If you're looking for specific questions/answers, you can search the thread. It thrives because of people willing to not only look for answers to their questions, but to give them as well.
We don't do a new thread for each question because ultimately, it will result in exactly what you're complaining about for the Q&A. Tons of new threads of 1 question, tons of them unanswered, and pages and pages of 1 post threads flooding the site.
A new thread each time is actually, and not to be a jerk, like saying "I want answers to my question and mine only. I don't want to have to look for it, and don't want to deal with other questions in the meantime." A forum needs to be a give and take, which is what this is in its current form.
Stuff tends to be left open more often during the later part of the year. Around now, right around release, is when they really crack down. They do that to try to keep things clean and concise because there's a ton of traffic this time of year, and tons of new threads popping up that don't necessarily need to. New threads take up space, not just on the front page but in terms of size/memory too.I have seen some heavy handed moderating on topics that clearly could be stand alone topics and I understand it's difficult for them on where to draw the line on what needs to go in a mega thread vs what can be a standalone topic. Re: This is the problem with mods forcing our posts into Q&A and impressions threads
I completely understand where you are coming from. Trying to sift through a lengthy Q/A thread to find the solution to a problem you may be experiencing, is a very tedious task indeed. However, if we didn't have that sort of format, the specific question you may be seeking an answer to may end up getting buried on page 10 in a matter of just an hour. There would be way, way too many threads to follow. In these threads, most questions, concerns, and such are unanswered and no feedback is given.. Having said that, I PM'd a moderator last year and suggested that it would be easier to navigate Q/A thread by splitting them up into a few separate categories. Gameplay - CFM- Feature Specific Functions - Online Experience were my ideas in order to help the community help each other. Oh well, I tried.
Maybe it's something that will get looked at for next year.

Absolutely, that's how it should be, sometimes its not, and sometimes it is.. I would say that at least for my experience though, the things I post are not simply questions that I want an answer to.. I post them on main page because I want an actual dialogue specifically about that subject.. That's why I get upset that they get closed..
