FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

So i decided to make a new thread. You can follow my Old Dynasty here that will lead you to this one:https://forums.operationsports.com/f...m-dynasty.html

But I will give you a brief summary of my current Dynasty. Currently, I am using the Modded Madden 2019 as the "engine" for my NCAA Dynasty.

How is this NCAA 19?
Well Ive created the entire ACC Conference in Madden, but I still use NCAA 14 as the template. I still recruit, use the Poll system, and everything else using NCAA 14, But I use Modded Madden 19 to actually PLAY my games. Once I play my game in Madden, I will simulate the score on NCAA 14 and Sim to the next week, which in turn, allows me to continue to recruit and still enjoy the NCAA Title to a degree. I have played an entire season (Year 2029 I believe). And now I have approached the end of season Bowl game.

Background of my Dynasty
I've been playing NCAA Dynasties since 2005. In NCAA 2006, I played with FSU for about 20 years or so. Head Coach was a legendary Coach by the name of Coach Chris Cal. In those years I won 5 National Championships. He was an icon. In that Dynasty, I had a Linebacker by the name of Cameel Verner. He was a 4 year Starter for Coach Cal, set records at FSU and is the All Time leader in Tackles and he also won 2 National Titles. He then left FSU and got drafted in Madden 2006, and played for 12 years with the Atlanta Falcons and was a Pro Bowler all 12 years.

So, in NCAA 2014, I played about 15 years with Coach Cal, then decided to take a new path. I created Coach Cameel Verner in the 16th season of the dynasty, and decided to "retire" Coach Cal. Cameel Verner became the Head Coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and his first season as Head Coach, Coach Cal was his Defensive Coordinator, which the Jackets went 8-5, and had the #3 ranked Defense. Fittingly, at the Age of 77, Coach Cal retired that year as DC.

Cameel Verner went on the have a very successful career as Georgia Tech's Head Coach. In the 13 years the Dynasty was played, Verner won 6 National Titles. Including 4 in the last 6 seasons.

In my Dynasty that was amazing. Because the American Athletic Conference (in my dynasty) became a Super Conference, which included Georgia Tech, Michigan, USC, Oregon, Miami, Nebraska, amongst others. Year in and year out, the AAC always had atleast 3 teams in the Top 10 at ALL times. Notably USC, Georgia Tech or Michigan. The AAC also always had someone from the conference represent them in the College Football Playoff. Georgia Tech only missed the Playoff twice.

Coach Verner was a masterful recruiter, in his stint at Georgia Tech he never finished worse than 10th in recruiting, and had the last 8 recruiting classes finish first in recruiting.

Taking over Florida State in NCAA (Madden) 2019
So here we are. Year 2029, and Coach Cameel Verner decided to leave his legendary throne in Atlanta with Georgia Tech, and go back home to Florida State. In my dynasty, FSU is still in the ACC, but however they had become a bottom feeding program. Jimbo Fisher retired, and the program was in shambles. Last season FSU finished 6-7, losing in the Bowl Game last season to Kent State in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl (Yikes!) , the past few years combined FSU's record was 25-28 overall(Double Yikes!). In perspective, Georgia Tech finished #5(10-2) in the polls going into Bowl season, with losses coming from #1 Miami (13-0) and #2 Michigan (12-1), both in the same Conference. The college football playoff has two teams from the American Conference representing it this year. (Michigan and Miami), so Georgia Tech barely missed it.

This season, with a roster not nearly as talented as his previous Georgia Tech's teams, FSU finished its regular season 7-5, with a Bowl Game looming vs Iowa State(6-6) in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, NC.

Season Review

After playing the season its time to look back at my first year at FSU. We started off extremely hot. We beat #5 South Carolina to start the season in the Chick Fil A Kick off Game. South Carolina finished the season ranked 9th. (Not bad). We started off 4-0 before eventually losing some heartbreaking games. We lost to Baylor(8-5) (the eventual Atlantic Coast Champs) then the next week to the #1 team in the land Miami Hurricanes.

The next week we pulled out a tough win vs a bad Syracuse team, but then got destroyed the following week by Wake Forest, and again lost to Syracuse which gave us 4 losses in 5 games.

We move on to the meat of the scheduele, we beat the #16 ranked Clemson Tigers, But then got absolutely routed by the Florida Gators to end the year who finished the season ranked #6. The final of that Florida game was 48-7. Which marked the worst loss of Cameel Verner's career. You can watch that Florida game here to end the season:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AUvHZmiqzlE" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Continuing with the season, we had some very horrific Quarterback play. It was inconsistent all year. Junior Cameron Rhoden had an up and down season, and Freshman backup Douglas Larson had some issues as well.

The offensive line wasnt very great either. According to PFF, our offensive line unit was ranked 119th in the country out of 131 teams.

The brightspot on offense was Freshman stud RB Kartrelle Gaither, a 5 star Running Back from Leisure City, FL. At 6'1" 218 he was an absolute monster this year especially considering the inconsistency at Offensive Line. Gaither finished the season with 1,014 yards.

On Defense, the two star Studs were DB Judah Jackson , and LB Sapomo Ontagwu, both were 5 star studs out of High School that signed with FSU after Cameel Verner came over from Georgia Tech.

So now, here we are, an improved, but still struggling FSU team sitting at 7-5, waiting to finish out the year with a bang going into the off season.

DEFENSE
Recruiting to play my defense makes things more fun, and also more challenging. I run a 3-3-5 Attacking defense. I like my one of my Defensive Ends to more so be gap fillers/penetrators, and the opposite end to be more of an attacking/aggressive end all while my Nose eats up space for the linebackers. I like my Outside backers to be pass rushers but athletic enough to drop into coverage. My Middle linebacker needs to be a guy who can cover a lot of space in a short amount of time due to the amount of blitzing we do. Both Nickle backs have to be cover savy, witty and strong enough to play in space and support the run. I mostly requrie atleast one ball hawk from my saftey spots as well. I love big rangy corners also.

My lineman need to be versatile because I like to move them all over the line sometimes we switch to a 4-2-5, to a 4-3/3-4 and then back to a 3-3-5 with the same personnel. So we require Lineman mostly other than the Nose to be extremely versatile to play many different techniques on the DL.

Ive had seasons where I had the perfect defensive personnel for it to work, I've had seasons where I missed/whiffed on an important recruit..and that ONE recruit that i missed on forced me to fit someone else in the scheme that didnt fit and it blew up my entire defense :( This past season was a great example. We was missing a lot of guys on personnel and the defense didnt look good for most of the year. The fun part is getting the correct personnel to run the defense.

Whats next?

To round out this season, FSU has one final game vs Iowa State in the Belk Bowl. After that, I have planned two High School All American Bowls using the high school players from the Dynasty in NCAA 14. I will import them over to Madden and have two High School All American games just like the Army All American game as well as the Old Under Armor All American game.

The two high school games will one that is Sponsored by Sparq(Nike) and Rivals.com. The Sparq All American Game, which will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The next one is the Under Armor All American Bowl presented by the United States Marine Corps held in Los Angeles, CA. Those three games should be completed by the end of the year, including Hype Videos for them. Should be fun! Hope you guys follow my dynasty! Ive also attached my current roster for the season I am in if you would like to check out the talent that was left over from the previous coaching staff prior to Cameel Verner taking over.

Disclaimer: Keep in Mind how far deep I am in my dynasty so you wont see real players that are on real rosters in real life. This is intended for entertainment and fun purposes only.

TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT the 2030 RECRUITING CLASS

It's no secret that since Cameel Verner took over as the Head Coach Florida State's recruiting class exploded. FSU knew that they had some huge holes that needed to be filled through recruiting and they wasted no time. The Noles landed some huge homeruns in this class. As of today, Florida State has locked in the #1 recruiting class in the country, and has 8 five star players, which is more than the last 5 years combined. Today we will take a look at 3 players who look to make a big splash for the near future for the Seminoles.

<a href="https://imgur.com/PRVqtf7"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/PRVqtf7.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
ATH Sarderrious Minter 6'3" 225 <a href="https://imgur.com/e5l0M0y"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/e5l0M0y.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> Pompano Beach, FL

Ranked as the #5 overall player Minter is a unique athlete. Minter has played all positions(RB, WR, LB, DE, S, KR PR) for his high school, including Quarterback his first 3 years in high school. He's amassed over 6,000 yards passing and over 7,000 yards rushing. He's led his school to 3 straight State Titles in Florida including only one loss as a starter. This season, he switched Offensively primarily to Running Back due to 2031 Quarterback Tredarius Beatle transferring to his school and is pegged to possibly be the #1 player in his respective class. This season, Minter has 2,414 rushing yards with 34 Touchdowns. What makes him so unique is his size. He's listed at 6'3" 225, but he's stated hes bulked up and is closer to around the 240 pound range, and was clocked at a 4.46 at the Nike Sparq Combine event. He was recruited by FSU as an athlete, but due to FSU missing out on Top 100 QB Johnie Fahey to UCONN, Coach Cameel Verner says he hasnt ruled out the possibility of Minter playing Quarterback for the Seminoles. Keep in mind, the Noles are still in the hunt for QB David Davis from Calhoun, GA. Minter is just a guy you want on your team because of his unique skillset and his leadership and proven track record as a winner.

<a href="https://imgur.com/oahTSlj"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/oahTSlj.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
WR Jamar Reid 6'3" 200 <a href="https://imgur.com/e5l0M0y"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/e5l0M0y.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>Bryant, AR

Jamar Reid is one of the most explosive athletes in this years class. He's the # 1 overall player in this class for a reason. He's a 4.3 guy, 41 inch vertical, and probably the best route runner in the country. Cameel Verner struck gold by landing this stud and he's got good company along with him with the rest of the WRs that committed to the Noles. Reid will get a chance to showcase his skills at the Sparq All American game in a few weeks.

<a href="https://imgur.com/c5PzHse"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/c5PzHse.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>

DT Zaveri O'Born 6'0" 250 <a href="https://imgur.com/e5l0M0y"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/e5l0M0y.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> Apopka, FL

O'Born is a very very rare breed. He's been compared to Aaron Donald, Kasim Edebali, Yannick Ngakoue, amongst others. But the speed and technique of O'Born is second to none. If O'Born even had average metrics, he would possibly be the number one player in this class. But his size has him down to the 18th overall ranked player in this class. But other than his size, its very hard to find a flaw in his game. O'Born has the ability to play Nose due to his power and technique, DE due to his quickness and ability to get off of the ball, and possibly even some Linebacker in situations due to his athletiscm. But he was recruited by FSU to strictly play all 3 spots on the defensive line. Verner believes he can be a revolutionary Nose Guard for them in their 3-3-5 defense due to his talent and incredible intelligence on the field. They nabbed an extremely important versatile defensive lineman with this pick up which could play huge dividends because Verner loves versatility in his defensive scheme.

Still looking to fill needs with remaning prospects

The Noles have a very solid class so far, and are looking to sign a full class this cycle. And with that, they are looking to finish filling the needs of the team. Mostly on defense. The Noles appear to have completed a very strong recieving class. They are still looking to sign a QB, 1 or 2 more offensive lineman, and a Nose Guard.

FSU runs a 3-3-5 defense. So they have stacked up on some talented defensive backs this class. And really ramped up on the Defensive Line and Outside Linebackers. Linebacker commits Ty'Shall McBee and Taylor Covington fit the bill of bigger linebackers who can play in space, but are also big enough to fight off blocks and help in run support. Covington is a fierce pass rusher, one of the best in the country. So he fits one of the needs as an outside blizter/coverage hybrid. He's been compared to Terrell Suggs by most recruiting services.

Five-Star ATH Bihadda Maddox its unclear whether he will come into FSU as a WR or Nickle back. But FSU loves his coverage skills so it wouldnt be a surprise to see him start out on Defense to start his career.

Five-Star CB Isaac Boles was the # 1 rated cornerback in this class and gives FSU a much needed shut down cornerback in this class.

The top remaining prospects would be elite Five-Star pass rusher DE Kenyatta Bimbo, who would give the Noles an immediate pass rushing boost. He would need to gain weight to be an every down Defensive End however. Next FSU would love to try and get Five-Star CB Montell Mack, landing two elite Corners this cycle would be a Grand Slam. However Mack appears to favor Georgia Tech and Clemson at this time. But he did have a great official visit to Tallahasee. This one could go all the way down to signing day.

Were only a couple months away from national signing day, but in Cameel Verner's first full year as Head Coach of the Seminoles, he's off to a very good start.

'NOLES TOPPLE CYCLONES 43-13 in Belk Bowl

FSU finally put together one of its best overall games of the season. Prior to the Belk Bowl, FSU got thrashed in its final game of the season vs Florida 47-7. The Noles had a tough task going against a very scrappy Iowa State team and managed to hold them under their season average in yards and only allowed 13 points on the night.

<a href="https://imgur.com/tgQGAyr"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/tgQGAyr.png?1" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
Freshman RB Kartrelle Gaither had a monster day on the ground 28 Carries 155 yards 2 Touchdowns and a few highlight runs on the day running through multiple defenders, including the last one of the day that sealed the deal for the Noles.

<a href="https://imgur.com/1iRnfLc"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/1iRnfLc.png?1" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
Senior Safety Edward Moore had his fair share of struggles this season, but earned defensive player of the game honors, . He finished his FSU Career with 13 Tackles and 2 Pass Breakups. He seemed to be all over the field and made play after play when the Seminoles needed them.

<a href="https://imgur.com/izBzHfN"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/izBzHfN.png?1" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>
Finally, Freshman LB Sapomo Ontagwu also had a great game. The 'Noles season leading tackler finished the game with 9 tackles, a sack, and 1 interception. He sinishes his freshman campaign season with 124 Tackles on the year.

The Offensive Line also played its best game of the season. They were maligned most of the year, but only gave up 2 sacks on the day and allowed the run game to flourish. The Seminoles couldn't have asked for a better ending for season that has had its fair share of ups and downs. The Noles Finish the year 8-5 and with the #1 Recruiting class with Georgia Tech nippng right on their heels at #2, should give them much needed momentum going into the Off-Season.
