is M20 better than M19?

I played the trial on access, but with only 10 hours, wasn't really enough time for me to judge it... basically, those who have had it and played for hours on hours.. is it worth the upgrade after the initial? Or should I stick with 19 till a sale? thanks

much better, until md 20 gameplay of madden was garbage.
I dont understand why people dont like md 20, play all md with players without any diference, mahomes trowing ball like any qb. MD is far from perfection but improve this

I think it is a huge improvement in most areas. Ill be interested to see what happens after a few patches.

I’ve purchased every Madden on this generation of consoles, but haven’t played any of them extensively simply because the gameplay hasn’t been fun to me at all. It never FELT like you’re playing real football. However, I think this year is different. I’ve already enjoyed M20 more than any of the others. It just feels good. It plays like real football, which I haven’t been able to say about Madden on this gen of consoles.

I am 100% with you. I have already played about 50 H2H games while I wait for patches, sliders, and finalized rosters to come out. And, of course, mucking with playbooks.

Gameplay is vastly improved because Madden 19 was a much lower standard on the field. I think improvements can be made still. The QB throwing sound is annoying.


No major changes to the structure of CFM but minor tweaks to the dev and xp system make it feel more rewarding and sim. Abilities make a big fun difference here and the scenario engine is a nice bow on top.


Mut is mut.


Face of the Franchise feels like the old pre-cfm superstar mode but you are limited to QB, but it's a fun thing to have a play with.


Overall, if you bought M19, I'd recommend M20.

Right now, it's impossible to answer that question. You're asking if a patch-less Madden 20 is better than a Madden 19 that received 1,843 patches.

But I have to say. I'm struggling with this game. It seems like every time I play, there is something else.

the player movement alone makes Madden enjoyable. the game feels and looks much more organic.
its a much more enjoyable experience than Madden 19. I might finally play multiple seasons in a cfm, or at least maybe 1, which I have not done in such a long time.

For H2H players. But if your into CFM it’ll probably be better to wait. I’m still playing M19 after the trial. But if you just want a jump in and play shorter qtrs against other people, the gameplay is good enough to enjoy the pace the game sets with the new additions. Certain animations are smoother as well.

This is the 1st Madden I have bought in several yrs, I think I quit buying Madden after 12 or 14. But I decided to take the chance this yr, after reading some of the more positive impressions on this site. I got to say Im pretty happy with the game. 1 of my biggest gripes was sim stats in Dynasty always being unrealistic, and I cant to speak to how stats are, as I havent started a Franchise yet, to test the stats, so that will be the tell all for me. As for how the game looks, and plays, Im happy.

Im sure some of it is, the game is fresh and new to me, since I havent played Madden in several yrs, so those who continue to buy it every yr may have a different take view than I do.



Probably the 1 issue that has bugged me so far in the few play now games is, that the CPU dont do clock management very well, and if I remember right, this was a problem back when I was still buying it each yr, so I am disappointed that hasnt been fixed, although I think its improved some in that area, but it isnt quite right still.

Yes. I never finished my trial in Madden 19. After it was in the vault and all patched up, I actually began having fun with it. But still wasn't really feeling the movement though.

I had less than 30 mins left before Madden 20 released. Plus I played through 6 or 7 hours on my PS4. The gameplay just feels way better to me than '19. One of my most favorite things about the game is the sounds. The PA announcer sounds so much better. It makes playing with no announcers way more enjoyable than before.

Removing the huddle break may not be all that great to others. But I really like it. It helps me stay engaged and the game moves along quicker. Having a career and family, I'm glad they made the change.

I've always been a fan of Madden even when others hate i still have fun with it every year! But this year the pass coverage is worse than last year, the draft classes are wack, passing game is abysmal if you dont have at least an 80 ovr QB might as well pack it up cause QBs are way to inaccurate can't hit the broadside of a barn! Unless your the CPU then Jacoby Brissett looks like Drew Brees out there! Madden 20 is trash compared to 19 at the beginning and end of that cycle!
