2020 NBA Trade Deadline
Just a few days out, looked like we didn't really have a spot to talk trades/signings and all that.Tags: None -
Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
To me..obvious Sellers should be:
Min
Det
NYK
Teams who shouldn’t stand pat:
Hou
Phi
NBA trade deadline is usually dead but there’s no reason the above teams shouldn’t be making any moves. -
Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
Stephen A says during a NYE party Kobe told him the Lakers have enough as is to win.
I respectfully disagree because though I doubted him in 2018 and he proved me wrong, I do seriously doubt LeBron can raise his game to that level in the playoffs. That was 2 years ago. AD is great but he does not handle double teams well and I expect him to see those regularly in the playoffs.Comment

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
Going to be tough for Minny to be sellers if they are wanting as much for Covington as internet rumors are suggesting. He's a good 3&D guy who fits either forward spot in today's NBA, but it seems like they are treating him like an All-Star, or a guy who's going to be at some point.. That ain't him lol.
Seems like most have dropped out of the Drummond sweepstakes.Comment

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
76ers I see making moves for sure. They have OKCs 1st pick this year, and many 2nds within next few drafts.
Bucks if right move is available they could make it since they have the Pacers 1st this year.
Celtics for sure I see making one of if not the biggest splash.
Nets don't have a shot this year, but if they're not active at the deadline, definitely will be at the draft.Comment

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
Seeing how it's his final season, will we see Vince Carter actually try for a title, or will he simply stay on a bad team because he gets more minutes?
He got his championship ring photo already, so maybe the latter?
Would be great seeing him back on Raptors to end his career, but if he does go elsewhere, probably LA?Comment

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
Just saw that Golden State denied the trade involving Wiggins for DLo. Way to reject that one. Wiggins doesnt fit GS style of play 2 me. Just another overhyped star that hasn't proved he can lead a team nowhere. While Dangelo on the other hand is more proven.

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
I suspect we wil hear lots of talk surrounding the Celtics interest in a number of players this week. Them needing to upgrade at center will continue to be talked about, but I would rather see someone who can get buckets added to our bench instead. Ultimately and unsurprisingly they will probably stand pat until the buyout market takes shape before either of those two things happen.Comment

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
I'd read something similar the other day but I think it was more along the lines of a bleacher report type of deal, nothing from a big source. The one I read mentioned that they want to see how DLo and Steph look together before making any trade decisions, which makes sense, and rumor was all year that if the do trade DLo it would be this off-season with their pick.
I would say if Minny would give Covington with Wiggins that would be intriguing. With Steph, Klay, Dray all coming back they would be adding good rotation pieces to that core, less pressure on Wiggins to be some star he's not set out to be. If GS could do that without giving up their pick I'd probably at least consider it.
If DLo fits well with Steph, and they are fine with playing Klay at the 3 he might be hard to trade though. One thing the team was missing pre-KD was someone other than Steph who could just go create his own shot if/when the offense stalled.Comment

per @Rockets_Insider
"According to league sources who spoke to CNBC, Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta is seeking to shed additional salary off the team’s nearly $140 million payroll hoping to avoid a luxury tax."

Re: 2020 NBA Trade Deadline
I'm hoping that Boston keeps its core together. I'm actually content with the Celtics center trio of Theis, Kanter and Rob Williams and would much rather Boston try to add a bench scorer to what we already have. Capela keeps linked to Boston but if he costs someone like Hayward or Smart, then he's not worth it. Maybe if a third team gets involved but I still don't see him as a huge upgrade over Theis.
If Atlanta is serious about trading John Collins, then I'd trade offer pretty much offer the farm (as many prospects and picks as it would take). I'm sure other teams could beat Boston's offer but he's one player that I would go "all-in" on. More realistically, players like Bjelica, Bogdanovic or Bertans but I think those three will be hot commodities, as well, and it's pretty tough for Boston to match salaries without giving up someone in their core. Detriot has a couple of non-Drummond players that would interest me - Markieff Morris, Wood, Svi, maybe Kennard but I'm not sure about him since he's knees seem to be shot.
I think Boston mostly likely stands pat and sees who shakes loose in the buyout market but I also don't think we need three draft picks in the next draft so getting something for at least one of them now kind of makes sense. I don't think Ainge would trade a 1st for a rental though so it has to be more expiring or at the very least someone with Bird Rights. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
