College Football Revamp team hired by EA?

If you have played or seen the College Football Revamp mod, you know that the team behind that is enormously talented. I wonder if EA has approached them at this point to bring them onto the EA College Football development team? They definitely deserve to be hired by EA.

Also wonder if they don't get hired by EA, if 2K would approach them to do something around college basketball.

Revamped is a visual update. There are tools that allow a 4 team playoff to be made.

It's way more than just visual. The defenses have been revamped. New offensive plays and formations added. CPU now has a full 300 play playbook to pick from originally CPU only called 35 plays from any given playbook it says. Once all teams completed this will be hard to put down even with EAs new version coming out. Its basically a brand new game overhaul

What have they done with the defense? Did they make it tougher? One of the reasons many like me moved on from ‘14 is because offense became too easy, so this would be great.

Also, does anyone know if they were able to tweak the fatigue issue? That was another game breaker.

They have done quite a bit. Not only adding over 1000+ plays but they've also expanded the CPU playbooks. I guess previously, the CPU ran the same 35 plays a game. That's why you'd see screens on 3rd down all the time, now they've expanded the CPU to full playbook and they do use the full playbook which makes the game better.

Regarding defense, they have updated the CPU playcalling logic. Website says "Defense playcalling is set to match NCAA league averages. 32% Man, 26% Cover 3-4-6, 16% Blitz, 11% Cover 2, 1% Cover 0 Blitz.".

I don't think they've done anything to the fatigue but you can notice the other improvements. It breathes fresh air into this game and it definitely makes it more challenging.

To read all the changes, here is the patch notes on the CFB website: https://github.com/cfbrevamped/CFBR-...otes/PC-PS3.md

They've added RPO plays to the game! That in and of itself...

There probably isn't a way to tweak the fatigue issue other than things you can do yourself. First, don't upgrade the "Recharge" DC skill or the "Up Tempo" OC Skill. The next thing is to edit all the coaches and set the Offensive Substitution and Defensive Substitution to 85 (which is the highest value the in game editor allows). By having the computer substitute for fatigue throughout the game, they are much more competitive in the 4th quarter.

But they've also seem to add the Wildcat. I upgraded three weeks ago in the middle of a dynasty season. My OC ran the (generic) Spread Playbook. On the second series, my OC called the Wildcat for the first time since being hired before the previous season. I have defended more Wildcat plays in the past three weeks than I did in the previous year. It is so bad that I had to update a house rule of mine. I used to select a play from the first "page" presented with the left play being 1st down unless it was a dumb call, middle play 2nd down, and right play 3rd. I can now page through the plays because too often my choices were Wildcat, Jet Sweep, Wildcat. Does anyone run the Wildcat anymore?

It seems that every team I'm playing now runs at least three Wildcats per game. I hope they fix this or else I'm going to uninstall it.

After posting this I played a game against Nevada (year 2045) whose head coach's offensive playbook is Memphis. They came out in the Wildcat with #25 as the Wildcat QB and I did not see their starting QB (#14) on the field. First play gained 2 yards, hurry up so still in the Wildcat on 2nd down for a gain of 1 yard. Running hurry up again on 3rd and 7. Somehow, #14 is now the QB and #25 is lined up in the slot in a 5 wide formation. It looks like they changed the formation, which you can't do (IIRC) when running hurry up in the Wildcat. The ball is snapped, but nobody moves and I don't know where the ball is. I initially assume it is the Center snap bug where the Center holds the ball and runs for about a 2 yard gain. Realizing that didn't happen, I tackle #25 because my defender was lined up to defend him and I figured he might have the ball because he should have been the WC QB. Tackling him ended the play for no gain.

Re: College Football Revamp team hired by EA?

The mod is a WIP. They are missing conferences but are working on it. Plays are in and apparently the CPU plays differently.
It's not complete though in terms of updating all team visuals which is hard work for sure.
Some of the cool things I know about in addition to that include some norm edits to make the pads look different and update the equipment recruits get to make it current.
That said, I will be waiting until all the teams visuals are in before jumping fully in - great progress though.
Finally, I think they use rosters from here, so that's something they get from OS so yeah it's mostly visual texture overhaul, new plays, cpu tweaks when its all said and done.
