What if the Oilers never relocated? Could the Bills have had better luck and finally won a Super Bowl? Maybe Manning will be the bust this time around and Leaf the success? Perhaps the Cowboys dynasty rolls all the way through the 90s. And imaging if Dan Marino never stars in Ace Ventura, but instead its Bill Belichick and he does so well he becomes a fully-fledge Hollywood star and never goes to New England?

Many of those questions will not be answered, but a few might as we dive into the 90s and rewrite some of the key events and see these changes snowball and reshape the NFL as we know it today. To do this, the dynasty will be split into three parts.

Part One - A time when the NFL was only 28-teams deep. News and events will follow as the league progresses from the '92 season all the way to the start of the '02 season offseason. This stage is simply rewritten history.

Part Two - A final round of expansion brings the team total up to 32. Divisions are realigned. Hero's of the 90s finish their careers with some of the young stars of the present. We participate in the new past via Madden 20.

Part Three - The future. Nothing is known. Our 2021 won't match your 2021. But it should be fun and we welcome it with a change to Madden 22.

Part Four - The timeline is corrected, or at least adjusted, back to it's original state. Or so we thought...

"Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads."

TBTTF Part 1: The Ripples Begin

                  .

WOW! Cowboys Make It A Massacre
                  January 31, 1993
Pasadena, CA - The Cowboys have proven that it is still America's team following a 52-17 blowout of the Buffalo Bills for the team's 4th world champion and first since 1978. Troy Aikman took home MVP honors after a 4 touchdown performance. The game was over before it started after the Cowboys jumped out to a 28-10 lead in the first half. The Bills no-huddle offense might have led the team to three-straight Super Bowls, but it has yet to come through with a win.

                    Expansion Finalists

                    .

                    And Then There Were Ten
                    March 15, 1993
The cities bidding for the next two NFL franchises have been reduced to 10 finalists that span not only across the nation, but into Canada as well. St. Louis is the presumed front runner with both Jacksonville and Charlotte on its heels.

The final ten cities are as follows (in alphabetical order):

Charlotte, NC - The Hornets are new to the NBA but is the city ready to add another sports franchise so quickly?

Baltimore, MD - The Colts used to play here before they snuck away in the night. These fans deserve another team

Jacksonville, FL - A renovated Gator Bowl would make a great home to Florida's third NFL team

Memphis, TN - Hard to believe Tennessee hasn't had a football team in ages. Time to fix that

Oakland, CA - The Raiders left and the city has been dying to get a team back

Portland, OR - Fans in both Oregon and Seattle would enjoy having a second NFL team to watch on Sundays

Sacramento, CA - California can never have enough football teams, but if 5 too many?

San Antonio, TX - Everything is bigger in Texas, accept the number of NFL teams. This will tie the state with Florida and New York if a team joins Houston and Dallas

St. Louis, MO - The city is in the midst of building a new dome for its supposed new team. Could they be jinxing themselves?

Toronto, Canada - The NFL wants to expand outside of the States, as seen with the beginning of NFL Europe. What better way to continue to build world exposure than to drop a team in Canada in its premier league?

                      Rematch In The Making?

                      .

Cowboys And Bills Set For Rematch?
                      November 20, 1993
The possibility of a Super Bowl rematch seems to grow stronger every week as now the Cowboys and Bills sit at 7-2. Two teams have never played each other in consecutive Super Bowls but history may be made if the teams continue to show their dominance from a season ago.

Buffalo's offense was shutout recently in a 0-23 loss to the Steelers but, outside of last week, a strong defense has helped make up for a lackluster season by the offense. For Dallas, Emmitt Smith is on a tear and leading the league in rushing. OC Penn has ramped up Smith's workload from a season ago and he is currently on pace for his best season yet.

If the two teams do meet in Super Bowl XXVIII, the Bills may finally break its 3-year losing streak in the big game. The defense alone should keep the score much closer than the last one.

M20 with the M2003 Mod. Gonna rewrite a bit of league history leading up to the 2002 season. Haven't decided how I'm going to play it myself, thinking of doing a GM-type play of a team in this reimagined NFL once I got into the early 2000s.

Charlotte, Baltimore, Jacksonville, St. Louis, and Toronto made the final cut as the potential destinations of the two newest NFL franchises, set to debut in 1995, is now down to five candidate cites. Charlotte and Jacksonville have now emerged as favorites as St. Louis' chances seem to dwindle as each day goes on. Baltimore looks dead-set on getting a team, either through expansion or relocation. The city is welcoming any team that wishes to come as hopes of landing an expansion team, like St. Louis, are starting to die out.
