Right now? The realistic trade is to not do one. Now, if you want to pretend all of this boils over, and Watson ends up being found guilty only of paying prostitutes for sex, then he's still tainted, so definitely not the 3 first round picks + that was suggested earlier in the year.



So, if it were me, I'd do it as maybe a first and a second.

Realistic trade is keep him. He is dead salary space. Don't play him. Lower his overall and cut him at the beginning of year 3 and take the smaller cap hit and open up the roster spot. Lower his overall to keep him from being resigned.

QB premium, Star Dev, Prototype Build, Contract Benefit to other team, 25yo ~90ovr therefore base is 1st-early 2nd but add on the boosters and you're looking at the region 1st+ to Multiple 1sts.

Balanced value is likely 2 unknown 1st rounders or a known high (top10) 1st rounder and an unknown next 1st rounder but you might send a pick back as a balance (like a 2nd or 3rd).

Unless he gets convicted and his contract voided, Houston can't even entertain cutting him until 2023. He'd leave them with a $51 million(!!!) dead cap hit.

Yeah, what's why I gave a realistic option at the end of my post.


DUE to his baggage — even if he doesn't lose his civil cases and isn't charged criminally, he's still going to look tainted by NFL standards due to at best he paid for consensual sexual encounters. That is going to knock down the price that teams would pay for him.


On the other hand, he's also potentially a HoF talent, so he'll still fetch a decent price. And I believe that price will be just a little bit less than the Rams paid for Stafford.





The teams that might want him, or rather, the most likely ones, are the Dolphins and the Eagles.

Rob Philly of their three first round picks. That was one that worked for me when I was testing out trades for him. I cannot remember if I had to throw a late pick into it.

There always seems to be one or more surprise teams in the mix whenever a top player in on the market. I'd say pick out some of the more "logical" destinations (Panthers, Dolphins) then throw in a few longshots (Giants, Browns, Broncos, Packers) and use a weighted coin to pick a winner.
