You do realize Forza 5 will only have around 200 cars at launch and GT6 will have significantly more than 200 cars with full cockpit views, right? And it only has 14 tracks.
It is pretty plain the FM5 is not a full featured Next Gen release. There's no logical way to prop up FM5 compared to GT6 with the exception of Next Gen. GT6 wins in every other conceivable way.

I haven't commented specifically on Forza at all, nor am I defending Forza. Moreover, the idea of GT vs. Forza discussion bores me TBH. I mentioned competitors in general to GT, of which there's more than just Forza. My point was focused soley on GT, in that they are one of the few (if not one of the only) driving (or racing) "sims" without a cockpit view in many, if not most of their cars, i.e., 'standards'.
In 2013 (heading into 2014), titles which claim to be 'sims' but don't contain a cockpit for many, if not most, of their cars are behind their competitors in this regard--period. In addition, given the advances in physics and AI in many of these titles, it's highly debatable they are outclassed by GT "in every way". In fact, one could make valid arguments for just the opposite.
If you enjoy GT, more power to you. But with all the options available these days, I submit GT is but another title, and certainly not king of the mountain, nor has it been for quite some time.
