I understand why some people are upset about this. I submit that given this team's history it is not unreasonable for Petrino to assume that he would eventually get axed, more than likely sooner than later. Why wait for the axe to fall when a better situation has presented itself?
he wouldn't have been fired by Blank simply because of the vick situation. Previous coaches were held to a high standard because Vick was supposed to do more, and the team did have some success in the playoffs with him. now Vick is gone, and Blank knows this. You let a guy build up his team when something like this happens. Petrino would have been safe for a few years at least.
