If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Ok your right he didnt really quit but he cost his team the Carolina game earlier this year.
When he went absolutly nuts at the end of the game. Drawing 67 yards worth of penalities on one drive alone.

Fact: the average tenure of a Falcons coach prior to this year (not counting interim coaches) has been 3 years. Reeves' 6 1/2 seasons makes him the longest tenured coach in team history.

I understand why some people are upset about this. I submit that given this team's history it is not unreasonable for Petrino to assume that he would eventually get axed, more than likely sooner than later. Why wait for the axe to fall when a better situation has presented itself?
he wouldn't have been fired by Blank simply because of the vick situation. Previous coaches were held to a high standard because Vick was supposed to do more, and the team did have some success in the playoffs with him. now Vick is gone, and Blank knows this. You let a guy build up his team when something like this happens. Petrino would have been safe for a few years at least.

You may be right. If that's the case with him, that's cool. But, I still don't think guys should be NFL head coaches if they haven't had any NFL coordinator experience first.
