Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
EA should have better throwing animations for the QBs. The preview on the front page shows Favre throwing and it just doesn't look smooth or very realistic. It also doesn't look like Favre's throwing motion - if they can get a player's signature shot in NBA games, they should be able to include each QBs throwing motion. I want to see Manning throw like Manning, and actual motions for Brady, Vince Young, etc. Just seems like something Madden should've had since they made jump to next gen.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
No accelerated clock is a huge deal to me too. I can't stand the fact that you can jump right to the line and still have 34 seconds on the clock. This forces us to put the game on like 6 or 7 minute Qtrs to get the amount of plays right.Gamertags

I would've preferred accelerated clock over the "do over" system.I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
Last year people were screaming for more presentation and no more radio guy. Last year they focused more on gameplay.
Pastapadre comes on here last year and said presentation will be number 1 focus next year and no more radio guy.
Most people seemed pleased with that direction.
EA ramps up presentation and has a broadcast booth again for this year.
Yet, it's three months away and yet people aren't happy.
The only thing I'm disappointed in so far, is no accelerated clock again. As far as the backtrack feature, it's not something I care about and will turn off, so, I don't sweat the small stuff.Comment

Steve, thank you so much bro. This is AWESOME stuff. Sucks to hear that only 53 man rosters are in madden... But its good and awesome to know that Madden is in the game as a preview and a half time guy. Pretty neatCharger Fan Born and Raised!

I'm not getting "suckered" in either. last years game was frankly pathletic. Especially after playing NBA 2k8 and The Show. EA has the most money and makes the poorest games.
Furthermore, I am so sick and tired of EA adding STUPID pointless features, like Backtrack and the hologram training BS.
Here's an idea EA, work on your terrible gameplay, than add bells and whistles. If you dress up a turd, it's still a turd.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
If they claim that they've finally "caught-up" with last-gens franchise mode and all of its features then they needed to do a lot more than that. Still waiting to see if there will be 'Player Roles', a complete 'Owner Mode', training-camp, pre-season/mid-season progression, a working in-season scouting system, the ability to edit positions, a more competitive FA period, pre-draft workouts, a central news-hub, weekly preparations for your next opponent, and on and on...
Looking forward to more info, Thanks!Last edited by DLaren; 05-09-2008, 01:54 PM.

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
Wow you hit the nail on the head. I would love to see all of these make their way into Madden. I mean a football game has never done things as innovative as that before.

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
They thought it was working and were surprised that it wasn't. So I'm guessing it will work by next build. At least I hope so. It definitely wasn't working in the build they were using.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 09 Preview
What's funny is GameSpot was in the same meeting I was in and they showed it, right in front of our eyes, it wasn't working. But they were suprised, so I would think it's going to be there by next build. But who knows.I do find it interesting that all the previews from the different sites have contradicted each other at some point or another, including this one. You say in-game saves aren't totally in yet, which Gamespot confirmed. Not saying you are wrong, I just find it funny that everyone has slightly different info, while you were all apparently sitting in the same room.
Nice preview though and thanks a lot!!Comment
