This may have been mentioned before but it seems to me that the football is about 2 or 3 times it's normal size in the demo. It looks like one of those stuffed ones you get from theme parks. It almost looked like the ball looks on the old Tecmo Bowl when it gets bigger the higher it gets.

I am still trying to figure out how to celebrate with the mascots. I ran a kickoff back and my player just stands there when it says go celebrate with your mascot.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Run right at the mascot and when you get close enough the celebration automatically starts. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

It looks like it may be another season of buying the 360 version of the EA games. But, we'll see with Madden 09 and the upcoming games. Part of me was hoping to buy the PS3 versions due to this being my 3rd Xbox 360 due to the Red Ring of Death. I am still on my launch PS3. Of course, I haven't logged near as much game time on ityet.
I really like this years demo. I already enjoy it more than last years game. I haven't seen too many stupid AI passes by the CPU like last year. The biggest problem with both NCAA and Madden last year was that the CPU AI would make too many bad throws for INTs. Also, neither one would hardly EVER throw deep. Just like real football, if a team never throws deep the AI should be more able to shut the team down by playing for short to medium passes. If this is fixed, I think we will have a great game this year. My only other concern regarding the demo is that it is really hard to shut down the CPUs passing game, but I have been able to do it by really mixing up my play calling and doing some occasional bumps at the line with my DBs. But, I have been burned on a few bumps.Comment

I have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360. I have really no preference on which system to buy games on. I just want the best version. I alternated between both versions and played them, and I can definitely say that the Xbox 360 version runs smoother, has slightly better graphics (mostly color and some shading differences). Which controller you prefer is a personal call. I advise anyone with a PS3 to get the new Dualshock 3 controller. I have a Silver Satin import from Japan and I love it for MLB 08. The old sixaxis sucks in my opinion. No rumble, and a lack of weight. I used to be a PS controller guy, but I have gotten used to the 360 controller and like it a lot. I feel the analog sticks are a little stiffer making it easier to choose "in-between" instead of all or nothing. I also like the fit for my hands and the weight. That being said the PS3 dualshock is excellent. I just wish the analog sticks were a little "stiffer".

The retail version will be polished up. This will be the best new gen version yet. I think I will go for it on the PS3 instead of the 360 just because of my setup. I don't think anyone can go wrong with either version.

So does the CPU attempt deep passes in the demo? I haven't seen many long bomb attempts from the CPU in all of the times I've played.Ryan Spencer

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Question for the guys complaining about the lack of a CPU deep ball ...
Are you calling a good amount of safety blitzes and double-teams, i.e. plays that invite the deep ball?
Not saying I've seen the CPU go deep a lot, just the opposite, but I'm wondering just how much of this issue isn't due to our playcalling. I know for example that there's a lot of defensive plays (and offensive plays, for that matter) that I haven't really called in years because they never worked on, say, NCAA 99, 00, 01 & 02 - so I've ignored them ever since.
It's at least possible that part of the reason we're not seeing a lot of deep balls from the CPU is because we're subconsciously defending against it with every defensive play we call.
Just a thought.I am become death
