Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
True.In the same token, I can understand a lot of the bitching and griping simply because money is tight right now for just about everyone. When you're spending $60+ of your "expendable" income, you at least expect a complete product. I don't have as much to complain about as others, but some of the stuff that's being found is quite ridiculous.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
Music to my ears.
Since you guys seem to know when it will be out, it stands to reason you have identified all of the gameplay issues you deem as "problems".
Care to give us a quick summary of what will be involved in the 2nd patch?AUBURN TIGERS

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
I don't know where this should be but I have had a major issue with losing connection when playing online games. Out of 10 or so games the connection was lost or my opponent lost his connection 7-8 times. It's not my router because I don't even have one. I got a couple of buddies that are having the same problem. If this is in the wrong thread please direct me to the right one.Click HERE to join Cluck Femson on facebook. Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
Well, there is some stuff that is already in the patch. This is stuff we identified and started on before the game hit shelves. Now that more issues are coming out we are identifying the ones we want to fix the most. I was going to do an official patch announcement of some kind when I knew, and still will, but I'll give a sneak peak based on what I know cause I love your avatar so much.
We fixed 2 recruiting exploits
Fixed a rare online desynch
Added half time highlights
Changed custom sounds so you can hear your opponent's while on the road
Fixed the exploit that custom sounds will tip you off when your opponent is going to fake punt/kick on 4th down
That's all I can remember off the top of my head. There are some others but I don't have the patch list in front of me as I'm posting at home right now.
It is still up in the air as to the stuff that we didn't have identified until the game went public. They are all on the gameplay team so I am not involved in their decision whether or not to fix them. The NCAA team's top two issues we want fixed is kick coverage and sliders.
It is best to wait on an official announcement, because any of this could change at any minute. I'll let everyone know once everything is locked down and finished, cause I don't want to mislead anyone. ONCE AGAIN, these aren't promises!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
It isn't a big thing though. We wanted to add something new while we were fixing stuff, but are limited in what we can patch. There is no commentary to go with it for instance (the speech project is like 8 gigs and we can't deliver that by patch!). Just the top 5 plays of the first half, assuming you ran 5 plays.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
OMT...Thanks for coming on these boards to kinda calm the storm.
But don't you think it would be in the best interests of EA and the entire NCAA gaming community if maybe a patch at least fixing the slider issue could be released before September?
Think about it. We would have to wait so long just to make the game playable. It wouldn't even matter if the rosters could be fixed if the game can't be adjusted properly. I am not a developer but I would think that a slider fix patch could be easily made and released. Another patch can then be released to fix any other gameplay issues that need to be tuned.
Madden is being released in about 3 weeks and Gamestop is offering a $40 exchange of NCAA towards Madden. Now I know EA will still make it's money, but if the point of working with this community is to listen to your consumers then I can't think of a better way to at least show that you are on our side. Releasing a slider patch soon would do wonders in soothing the anger that we have toward this failed product.
It is the least that can be done. Roster fixes are nothing if the game can't be adjusted to make it close to playable.
Just my 3 cents.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch Announcement
I am guessing this doesn't fall into that category, but it would be something I would like looked into on the grounds of recruiting. Maybe it is only my dynasty (however I know a lot of people are not using dynasty because of the roster problem), but I am seeing some WACKY CPU recruiting.
I understand having 4 QBs on roster, I understand having 4-5 RBs. I do NOT understand why the CPU feels the need to have 7 QBs and 9 RBs (Wisconsin in my dynasty, the average CPU team has at least 5 QBs and around 7 RBs). Now this would be ok with me if this is just one of those deals to where that is just how that one year worked out. However, this is year 4 of the dynasty and it is getting worse. I'm not upset over the fact the cpu recruits RB like crazy, what I am upset about is that finding a team with more than one TE on their roster who was actually recruited by the cpu is getting really hard. In my dynasty South Carolina has 4 OT (2 walkons), they have 8 QBs. Now if an injury occurs to an OT for them, they are in some deep trouble. This would be fine if this wasn't the average, but it is what I am seeing and it scares me. I don't know if anybody else has seen this but I didn't get any comments on it when I posted it before, and it seems like most people are staying away from dynasty, just something that I think should at least be looked at.Comment
