I need some form of closer with this because it is just baffling to me and my mates why we can't control the game the way we want too.
for whatever reason, the design team decided to remove it. I don't like it either.

I prefer dropped passes over robo QB and WR. Passes are dropped several times a game in the NFL, see TO. Now have a realistic manner to add errant passes, then we are in business.

Total BS, we're gonna try a different demo so we can attract new people to the game, are you for real? I can see what Madden is all about, money. It's suppossed to be football, how hard is that th explain to someone? But in reality this is just an arcade game, with gimmicks that make you think you're better at the game than you are. IQ tests, are you serious, taking out sliders are you serious, not giving a crap about the people who made Madden what it is (the consumer) are you serious? ALL EA cares about is their bottom line, their profit margain. These EA drones can come on this site and "talk" to us, but it isn't gonna change the game, if they'd get a great game engine going and then added all the fluff later we'd be good, but no we get stuck with crap like superstar mode, IQ tests, and relive a historic moment in NFL history. I don't have a programming degree, but I know football. In all honesty I feel a monkey on acid has a better understanding of what is needed to make this game better. Flat out EA employees are just that employees, they do what they're told and are MAYBE asked to think of new gimmicks to throw in as an "awesome new feature". Get rid of the gimmicks and all the fluff and make a f'ing football game. Money hungry bitches. End of rant.
This sounds like all games to me. Nothing new. In my opinion though the developers care and I can see it in the gameplay, and strides they've made in improving the game.

I like the demo, but will admit im getting tired of it. Not a Giants or Pats fan so that doesnt help. Seems like it plays good, but without extended time with the running game, playcalling or defense, its hard to make any judgement

Anyone else looked at the Pats sideline and seen how fat #12 got? Brady really let himself go.

Re: Madden 09 Demo Released, Impressions Here

After readin' through this thread and others, and then playin' the demo again, I found some startling discoveries.
It really does feel as if the passing is very technical and parallel to real life situations. Some players, like Brandon Jacobs (RB) don't do so well catchin' bullet passes (even when wide open). Eli's arm feels accurate-for Eli.
Now, playin' the demo and keepin' these new realistic quirks in mind, it's very enjoyable-not to mention it looks great! I finally remembered to watch some instant replays...and wow! It's very cool to see all of the facial animations-even if I don't see them durin' gameplay. And, during replays, I can see all of the players givin' more effort than I have in the past. I really like what I'm playin!....

Still can't figure out all the dropped passes from Burress and Shockey, though.

That's why features are removed and then put in future installments. It's cyclical. When the XBOX 720 or whatever and PS4 come out, we'll probably go through the same thing.

As far as just an awesome game of pure football is concerned, that will probably never happen. We have to understand that EA is NOT going to cater to just the 18-35 crowd. They try to bring in EVERYBODY.
Well that's my point, these "new" producers, can't do anything to mess up EA's cash cow, so there will be no major changes. Yay exclusive licenses. LOL at them telling us 2010 is where it'll be, lol some new stupid gimmick, like being able to put your face in the game. EA Sports is a joke, and honestly I wish they'd just be honest and say "we don't need to change anything, we're just in it for the money". Instead we get led along EVERY year and EVERY year we keep falling for it. Awesome.

Very good points. Afterall, this is a business. So, in the end, as long as the core gameplay is awesome and EA allows me to be able to turn off all of the fluff, then I'm good...with their sports games, anyway.

You know, the saddest part is that while we're here laughing at the garbage that EA continues to put out, EA is getting the 'last laugh'. Look at how many suckers continue to buy this garbage year in and year out. The same ones that gripe on the Internet about not having stupid features like adding your face in the game or adding your own music, or making sure the flags blow in the correct direction. Or heaven forbid, focusing on how fat Tom Brady looks in the game. Yet, they'll end their post talking about how great Madden could be this year. Like an alcoholic that just needs one more drink.

I am not quite sure what happened here, been playing the demo , but lets get back to impressions about the demo.

So to help out, I am still enjoying the demo, although its starting grow old. I beat the Pats awhile ago when I let a pass fly with 5 seconds left that was intended for Toomer, but was deflected and caught by Smith. Pretty cool.

I am having a blast now playing with the backups for the Giants. Come on August 12th. 8th

I've had that issue too with Shockey in the flats letting the ball drop. Bradshaw has dropped a few but I was expecting Shockey to handle a simple pass with no pressure

Well, from what I've seen, the drops seem to occur like this when I throw bullet passes. when I put a little "touch" on them it hasn't occured at all. I've also seen plenty of flat out incompletions, but mostly when I roll out and try to throw on the run. I'd personally like to see more errant throws on regular routes (Not overdone, but occcasionally...based on QB accuracy/recognition), but overall I'm mostly pleased with some of the improvement I see in the passing...albeit a very limited sample.

Anyone else thing the bullet pass travels TOO fast. It looks strange to see a football time warp from point A to point B.

1 thing i really dislike and don't know if anyone mentioned this is, that if you keep flicking left and right on the r-stick he constantly jukes with your motions.

after awhile he stumbles but before that happens just as fast as you can flick that stick is as quick as he does the move.

very unrealistic to me. it's bad enough the player can break almost every tackle, but now to do all thosre jukes in rapid succession is not possible.
