Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
Hey JayMO, I saw more like 5-7 yards of difference on kick returns. I'm not sure what is going on there.
I think we will find that over the course of an entire season, this patch has dramatically improved the game. The slider people are happy, because the game is playing much much better. Perhaps you had a couple of weird games.
Also, you must be on the west coast or stayed up really really late, because the patch was supposed to come out around 5 a.m. ET. Are you sure you had the right patch?Go Colts, Go Irish!!

Rudy, i get what you're saying, but i dont want to keep changing sliders for every team i play. I want to set some tough, but fair sliders and play (ala years past), not feel like i have to go in every week and change it.
(Not trying to stick it to you, just pointing that out)Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

stewaat, kodiak, Skyboxer and I have been slider testing all morning.
The post patch OS Legends Sliders have been posted in the slider thread if you want to give them a whirl.
I'm pretty darn happy with them now. There are some definite improvements by EA in the game post patch. Kudos.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
I don't change sliders for each team. My slider set is the same no matter who I play. I was just changing the human sliders for RBA and RBL every time the cpu got the ball to actually have a human and cpu slider set. With the patch, I won't have to do that ever again.Rudy, i get what you're saying, but i dont want to keep changing sliders for every team i play. You are dead wrong. Break block affects both the DL ability to break a block in pass rush situations AND run defense situations. If the cpu pass block is at 0 and human break block at 100, the cpu is at a -100 relative pass block score. If CPU run block was at 100, the cpu run block is at 0 for a relative score. Break block affects both and always has.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
Just played one half of 5 min qtrs on AA . Me using USC vs Notre Dame. I thought it played awesome!! Im very surprised. I sacked the QB 4 times in 1 half! No kick return went past the 30 yd line. I even saw a pass to the HB in the flat wide open and get this..............he turned upfield!! The only thing I saw that was still in effect is Robo QB for both teams. Though, when i have time I'm sure sliders will help that. I was like 7-10 and the cpu was 9-12. No INTs for both. But even with those cpu numbers, I was winning 17-0. Thats about right. Also dont know if it was just ND or what, but they fake punted twice out of the 3 times they punted. The one that they did punt, they shanked it out of bounds, so I couldnt test the long punt returns. Overall, Im very impressed and instantly was having more fun than Madden 09

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
This is on All American.
This is what a dominant front four should do. Bring pressure and force the QB to make a mistake.
Check out both of my Defensive Ends not get in that "suction" mode and instead, run full steam for the QB. I wept when I saw this.
The pancakes aren't gone completely, but as you can see...it's much improved.

Yes, I agree with what you say here about Break Block. It has been that way for a few years. Break block affects both and always has.
I just didn't see any difference at all on All-american default sliders with the pass rush or OL/DL interaction. I need to play more and try slider tweaks, but I just think alot of this may be wishful thinking. I don't remember OMT or EA stating that they were going to address the OL/DL interaction. Unless they tweaked the way the sliders worked. I hope you guys that say so are correct, I really do.
What did you guys do, OMT, so we can stop speculating? Did you increase slider effectiveness or tweak the OL/DL? Thanks for getting this patch out so quick.
Personally, I like the game. Its not perfect, but from what little I saw post patch 2, I like it a lot, and will probably be able to find sliders that make me happy with it overall. I don't play Heisman because robo QB is over the top on that level. On AA, I have never had a problem stopping them on D if I should. But, they could not run against me on AA (so now with CPU sliders that should be alleviated).
My biggest problem with the game before were punt returns and no CPU sliders. If those have been addressed properly, it should be a fun season.Comment
