Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 First Look Preview
For those of you who avidly complain about lack of media out for MLB 2K9 think about this:
MLB 2K9 is a little over 1&1/2 months aways from release. All the negativity is not logical, you are all putting 2K in this giant company as a whole like there is no blue castle, kush, vc, 2K Boston etc...
Think about it, I'd be like Madden 2010 being made by EA Big co.
To top it in relevance MVP Baseball made from EA Big.
It cant be judged because this is the first time this company has tried to create a next gen baseball game.
The Info will come just be patient. All I'm saying is its undisputable because of the circumstances
sit back and enjoy what comes this march.Catch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

2K is up to their old tricks again. Waiting until the last minute to release MLB 2K9 gameplay videos means they are behind schedule and will release another glitchy product. I will not be making the same mistake I did last year by buying MLB 2K8 the day it came out without playing the demo first.Coming is my style, but I have to go.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 First Look Preview
As I've said before it really seems like VC is trying to get back to basics by tightening-up the Pitching, Batting & Fielding.
The presentation has been lacking for years so we see the addition of Real-Time World Feature which if done right should be fun to watch. Cut-scenes with this feature should be limited if not totally gone.
My only worry so far is that there was no info on FRANCHISE in that leaked featured list. Franchise Mode has been broken for a while. Players out of position on the field, batting in weird spots in the line-up & rotations getting all screwed-up.
Here's hoping they've fixed these issues & if not hopefully they have allowed us to have TOTAL CONTROL of all the teams in the gameso we can fix these issues ourselves.
Lastly I hope they have tweaked the STATS/RATINGS Engine. This may be a lot to ask for because NO Sports Game has been able to get this correct in a long time, but it is an important part of Franchise Mode.
All of these things, a more than likely upgrade to the graphics & VC now in charge of this title has me optimistic that this game is finally heading in the right directionComment

I am getting excited, sounds like they are going back to the basics again and just looking to make a solid good game of baseballComment

If 2K8 had slightly better graphics, no framerate issues, or stat glitch issues it would have been the greatest baseball game of all time. If VC can just add a new coat of paint and fix the basics then 2k9 could be a great game. But either way I won't buy it on day one or month one. I will wait till i can get it for $30 on ebay. 2K still owes me an apology for that abomination known as MLB2K8.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 First Look Preview
After reading the First Look article, I'm exciting yet hesitant to get my hopes up for this game. Its because last year, they had so many new things that sounded great but the final product was a dissapointment on some levels. If the new living thing is the real deal, than yes it would be a huge step for 2k. Same with them trying to fix the fielding, batting, and pitching gameplay. It sounds all good now but we won't know till the final product comes out which has a chance to be a dissapointment.
My only problem is that MLB 2K has no competition on the 360. So really 2K doesn't have to push itself to really take big steps because they is no other game on the 360 to challenge it. Yes, we do have The Show on the PS3 but I know that most PS3 owners will buy The Show anyway because The Show is a playstation game and is the best baseball game out there. If The Show was on the 360 I think we would be seeing 2K trying its hardest to beat out The Show.
Im sure 2k has figured out that yes they will loose sales on the PS3/PS2 version but they also have all the 360 users that will be force to buy the 2k version because its the only baseball game on that console. And I know that most people, especially in this economy don't have enough money to buy a PS3 just for The Show.
For another example, look at Live. Live has taken big steps in 09 because they finally figured out that 2k is making a better game so they want to beat 2k out. Same goes with Madden when they had NFL 2k out. Madden was good back then, but look at it now, it has taken steps back because it has no competition.
I just hope that MLB 2k can get back on track and put out a great game this year, so that us 360 users can enjoy this season for the summer.Last edited by jfrost32; 01-17-2009, 10:39 PM.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 First Look Preview
Could this really be a "First Look", when there was no look at all at the game?
