    Recruiting Priorities

These are based off the 2007-2008 season so "new" coaches are not considered(still waaay better than the defaults)

*Also if you guys want the rest of the profile just ask an ill edit this post*

Rebounding is not used anymore JUST because of the fact that assistant coaches will start to get hired at "small" schools and will bring that Rebounding priority with them, So as you will notice the Power conf schools(and Memphis)will have ATH first ONLY, every other team will have it second....I simmed and it test well(good replacement)

Potential is worthless(even more worthless on a small school)

Only the Ivy League schools shall have INT first...If you dont agree with some teams please give suggestions!

Do you have the real offenses and defenses that these schools run? I've been trying to find that info forever.

Yes, it may not be 100% correct tho...Ive edited every team slightly defferent from their default settings

Other than that 2K surprisely did a good just with the default settings...Their is no real dribble drive offense but Ive notice every team who ran it in 2008 has the same BOX offense as memphis on default

          Re: Recruiting Priorities

          Awesome info.

One suggestion is that Iowa could be the same at Butler and have defense as the second priority. Coach Lick has been preaching "The Butler Way" since he came to Iowa which is a big focus on shooting and defense. It's up to you if you want to change it thought.

          Thanks for posting these.

Hey Jukeman. I'm curious about something you posted in another thread:

I read that as you're saying that later in legacies, most teams have lots of forwards and centers if you use the default priorities. Is that what you're saying? I've edited the priorities for my new 2009 legacy, but for the exact opposite reason. I've found that a very high percentage of the good teams (I mainly only look at power conference teams, so maybe this is the disconnect) tended to go for the bester overall players. Since, in this game, most of the great players are guards, I ended up with a lot of teams with 2 PF/C max. There were a ton that had 0 centers and either 0 or 1 PF.

I've found that with my new, edited priorities, teams end up with more centers and PFs than on default, but still not as many as I'd like (I'd love it if teams would try to get 2-3 players at every position).

Are your priorities geared towards getting more guards on teams (which is not at all the problem I've had with default or my own edited priorities) or to get more big men on teams?

              Thanx.

                Re: Recruiting Priorities

For FAMU, I would make shooting the first priority. FAMU loves to fire up 3's and it seems that the coach has put a huge emphasis on shooting. That's the only adjustment I've made.

I was talking about the default settings......I agree with the default setup there were too many guards on teams, so the roster file Ive used had the Size preference assigned to alot of teams causing too many bigs now....These settings are geared towards:

Making teams more balanced with guards and bigs

                  Spreading HSAA's around the country

Stopping Power's from signing only top recruits

Making the small schools more talented(they wont be rated high tho)

Go to the Coach Profiles. They are right under the coach pictures.

                        Re: Recruiting Priorities

For NJIT, I'd suggest INT as the top or second criteria.. since it is an academic school with the top majors being: architecture, engineering, and computer science. Also, when checking out the players majors.. it's not like a lot of other programs where general education or sports management rule their choices.

North Dakota State isn't listed.. but they have some terrific shooters so shooting should be the top and skills as second-- perhaps even vice versa since the coach stresses basketball IQ.

South Dakota State isn't listed either; however, I did not follow them very much during the Summit League season so I'm unsure of what to suggest for that school.

Also, just of note.. it's "Illinois"

i did have one question. if these are tied to the coaches and not the schools, what happens when a coach moves to another school or a school hires a new coach? i guess you havent noticed this messing things up much?

Yes, that is why Im no longer using the Rebounding preference...That way small school wont be looking like G'Town 4 years into legacy because of an assistant coach taking JT3's profile with him...

Sometimes a coach stays with the last coaches profile(Chris Collins was hired at Manhattan but didnt use coach K's profile)

Ive also notice that team's hired coaches with similar styles to their last coach...I dont know if this is true or not but over the years in my legacy Ive notice a pattern....It seem like almost every year Mark Few repaces Lute Olsen, so I changed Few's profile up to see what would happen, Arizona went a different route...Ive even seen Huggins former assistant replace him at W.Virginia when Huggins retired! Again I dont no if its true or not but this is what I have notice...It was alot more
