AH - but they don't push the BALL CARRIER - they push the OPPOSING TACKLERS, who in turn are pushing the ball carrier.

An offensive player can't grab and push his own teammate forward - but he can push an opposing player who's in the process of trying to tackle his teammate, like was shown in the Madden video.

John Runyan doesn't push Westbrook himself on those plays mentioned above - Runyan pushes the tackler - as if he's trying to block him off Westbrook. It just winds up pushing the whole pack of gang tacklers forward
