So if Knight does his roster all over, then the Computer Roster will work?? Is that correct??

Otherwise, we're in the same boat we were before the patch. I'm really disappointed in this game this year. I got burned at the stake the last time I said this, but I can't help but feel let down by my favorite baseball series of all time. I mean, look at the list of glitches alone.

That's gotta be the biggest list of bugs I've ever seen. I give them credit if they were actually able to fix all of them. But seriously, maybe testing the game a little more before release would be a better strategy next year. It's already probably going to keep me from buying it day one. I was very critical of people who didn't want to buy the game day one this year in the hope that they could save some money. My argument was that The Show is one of the few games worth $60. But all these glitches have made me eat crow on that one.

Considering that several aspects of the game were just made functional today, it makes me wonder how much money I could have saved. I probably could have gotten this during this past weekend's B2G1 sale at Gamestop. The ONLY incentive to buy a game at launch is to be able to enjoy it from the beginning. If companies can't provide a fully working product, that incentive is negated.

Before I get thrown down the well, let me say, this is NOT a personal attack on Sony or The Show. I've pretty much decided that with all my sports games. Madden 09 was buggy, NHL 09 had a glitch that made people gods. If these companies continue to release games that need huge fixes to appease their fanbase, then I'll start waiting for the fixes before I buy the game...and save myself $15-20 in the process.
I'm not going to throw you down the well at all. You have the right to your opinion and I agree with you on some of it.

But, it still is a very good game gameplay-wise overall, and still worth it to me that I dropped $60 on it. It is a lot of fun.
It's just a shame because it could have been almost flawless. I am disappointed so far, but I can deal with it, and I will just have to use the CPU roster control lineup workaround unless they come out with another patch.

As for the historical stats, I may just make my Cubs minors using Knights as a template or just roll with his Full Minors/Stock players/stock pitchers rosters he posts using sendspace (since he probably can't put them on the vault anymore.

No, just the historical stats will work then. The CPU roster control on lineup problem is still there. I tested it with 4/27 and 4/20 rosters SCEA and it is there.

But, guys, we can't expect Knight to redo his rosters. He has lost countless hours already.

Just redo the rosters, it won't take that long and it's worth it

So you would advise against this patch?? I haven't DL it yet and have been debating all day. I have a franchise 16 games in so I guess I will just keep trucking with that one.

Sorry I know it's a stupid question... But where do you download it? I looked in the Playstation Store and it wasn't there?

You can remove the patch without removing your save files.

                    Here's how:

Go to GAME DATA utility, press triangle and delete.

This will erase the game, the patch, but not your saves.

When you put your disc back in, it will reload the game to the HDD.

You probably won't be able to ever go online again with this game (unless you download the patch) though if that matters to you.

Wait, Russell, when you said you talked to Knight and he said it sucks, but if it fixed it then do it, what "fix" are we referring to? What did SCEA repair that essentially meant his rosters couldnt/wouldnt be able to be used? Im confused here.

Im just surprised that people are having franchise crashes now in addition to all this other madness.

1 )If i understand correctly, to have the correct historical stats, you have to use a new roster (4/20 or later), is that right?
                      2) TO have the correct lineups you can either A) use Knights lineup fix rosters (v1 or v2) or B) use his version 3, or any other rosters, turn roster control on and set them in game? So basically you either go with injuries and the CPU controlling everything outside of your team or you turn roster control on, and give up trades, injuries and everything else. Am i right in those statements?

That might work last year when we had sliders for base stealing for the CPU and User each, seperately, but unfortunately this slider is only in the global slider section and I dont need the CPU going nuts on the base paths just because I want my Dodgers to actually run at a realistic rate. I still dont get why they even changed this as I would be completely dumbfounded if people were literally complaining that they had too much control.

While we were still in the patch process and before we made any call on this subject I talked to Knight and asked him what he thought about this since hes the roster guru. He says it sucks, but he understands do it if it fixes the problem so we did.
Wow, thats not good to hear. So, out of curiosity, if I have a franchise going using Knights initial roster that was released prior to the minors being done, will my franchise work or is that why some people are having their franchise crash? I refuse to start over now that Im 40 games in having played all 40 so I really pray this isnt the case. Can anyone, Russell included, answer this? Are you guys that are having your franchise crash using Knights roster at all or stock rosters from SCEA?

All he's saying is that they can't be uploaded to Sports Connect, NOT that you can't use them to start a franchise. It means that any roster set currently in the works based on a set previous to those release dates will have to be imported from a flash, not downloaded.

Wait, I can't even continue my franchise since I started it with Knights rosters, or start a new one with rosters I already have on my PS3 because of the patch?

Yup long as you use the new rosters it should be fine. All the old rosters are "contaminated" that's why Knight and others have to re-do them.
