I didn't play Madden 09 extensively, were the highlights even presented in a nice way *tv camera angles*...I mean something other than the default camera?

*sigh* i was hoping for actual highlights of your game and other games in franchise mode. Its a nifty looking menu system, but nothing more to me. I dont know what last years or 08's menus looked like, but im guessing this is a big step up.

I'll beat the dead horse and wish that someone could confirm or deny about highlights in the extra points show..

There will be highlighes during halftime and post game good greif. Chill out.

Well you actually fall into that 1% that does not care about gameplay or Presentation. Your Probably going to want to keep on playing Head Coach, Josh Looman already said the Franchise in Madden 10 will not be as good as Head Coach. So Madden will probably not please you because they are not making the game for people like you, that is why you got Head Coach.

No, no, no, no. When did I say I DIDN'T care about gameplay? I love the changes that they made with the blocking, I love the pro-tak concept, I think the on the field stuff is MUCH improved, and I applaud what the new crew has done with this. So please don't put words in my mouth.

When I talk about presentation, I mean this: I don't care at all about colored cleats, or if every detail on the stadium is perfect, or if I can count blades of grass. That stuff is fluff. I would take PS2 or N64 graphics over current gen if the gameplay on the low graphics was great.

Franchise isn't worth playing if every team drafts a QB round 1 every year, and if the salary cap is irrelevant 3 seasons in, and if teams have no logic in their free agent signings, and if the sim engine is horribly innacurate.

Would you rather play a very un-realistic franchise with Extra Point or a great franchise without it? No brainer for me.

I'm hoping they upgrade the logic for who gets in. Last year, Brad Johnson would always some how find his way into the hall of fame. He was never a top 5 quarterback at any point in his career.

It should somehow factor in probowls, production, longevity, superbowls, and possibly national relevance.

I would love if they put in some kind of a tracker for things like hype on a player level and team level. Teams like New York (or players on those teams) would always receive a lot of national attention, but teams like the Jaguars would have to do something extraordinary to really get much press. Not gonna happen though. At least not this year.

Wow I'm so late, but the franchise looks 1000x better. And I understand why there's no highlights in the Extra Point, I think it would look kinda wierd because it's real people and not game models.

I have raised this question/statement before....
You could ONLY really get a highlight if the game actually played.... visually. So unless you all want all simmed games to be played out on your box.... "live", you would just get something made up. Which is not really what I would like....I'm happy with what they got in there

Yeah.

I love the weekly show in College Hoops 2k8, but the highlights are made up, and you end up seeing the same ones repeatedly before long. Until they can really get something like this good, I think it's best to leave it out. An around the league show can still be good without highlights.

I think the game is headed in the right direction (please don't get me wrong), but we really really were looking forward to getting an actual highlight show this year. There are those of us who could have done without online franchise, without injury carts, without colored cleats, without hand towels, without the kitchen sink.

Can you imagine how much crap EA would have taken if they had only done a highlight show and not added any of that stuff?

They make the game with everyone's interests in mind, and clearly a lot of people were clamoring for Online Franchise. Some of the other stuff you mentioned was probably easier to implement than a highlight show. That being said, there is still some increased presentation in Franchise mode and Franchise news with the Extra Point, so it's not like you were totally and completely ignored.

I LOVE what I see with this Xtra POINT feature; it looks beautiful. By time, by time by time... EA finally puts weekly footage in Franchise Mode (hopefully Franshise doesn't freeze this year). I just wondering how the gameplay stacks up, which is the most important part for me. Nonethless, this new feature looks promising.

bit of a bummer,but at least we got some new things that lay the groundwork for great things.
