Re: Are the rosters on teambuilder the ones being launched with the game?
People always freak out when the new recruiting class for their school isn't in the game and have been pointing to this as the reason the rosters aren't final. The teams in the game are only so big and only the big time recruits make it into the game as true freshman. I've been playing NCAA since 2001. It's always been like that.Comment

There were only 3 players on Bama's roster that I couldn't identify, QB#7 (Fanuzzi?), WR #9 (Not Stover, he graduated), and MLB #16. Everyone else made perfect sense, although some of their ratings were inflated.Comment

After reading everyone's responses, my guess is that the roster was just an "in-progress" one. I'm assuming they updated all the Top 25 teams first, as us fans of those teams have very few complaints. It's the smaller schools that are disasters.
EA has always been good at giving us accurate rosters. Of course it can never be perfect because things can change in such a hurry, but there's no reason at all that for the first time ever they completely dropped the ball on rosters. They know how important they are to the consumer. They'll have it right.Comment

Pasta supposedly confirmed it though via Twitter. Like I said before he's usually a pro EA guy (loved Madden 09 and NCAA 09) so I ask again.
Why would he post negative info like that if he wasn't sure it was true?GT: Herkyalert

Florida's rosters look pretty good to me.
I sure hope these rosters aren't final though. There appears to be a large number of errors. Then again, there have always been a fair amount of errors on each team in the past, but nothing like an entire incoming freshman class missing."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

I have said this on other threads that i think one of the problem with freshman is that the EA roster only allows you to have 70 players on a team. I counted OU's actual real life roster on the sooners website and they list over 80 players. That is a discrepancy of at least ten players. They aren't going to be able to put all freshman on a team for that reason. Another point is if you ask me, the people at ea do not look at recruiting websites and get accurate ratings for recruits. My main point with that is the speed. Rivals and every other website posts forty times and that should give the ea guys a solid number to go off of, if they even take the time to look at individual recruits profiles. On the other hand, there are a ton of college football players. 119 teams with 80 players on each team and hundreds of recruits to look at, that is a daunting task for a small group of people to overcome.Comment

If that's true, this might mark the end of NCAA Football (in terms of popularity). No one wants to play a game with generic players, especially online. This isn't Joe Montana Football on Sega.Comment

Resources (Amount of people and time)... that is an excuse. Not saying that's a "claim" for the rosters in their present state. I'm an Engineer in Nuclear Power designing/constructing a plant... I know all about resources. If the game rosters and TB rosters are different, then it's not really that big of an issue. Tennessee's roster is not good at all. We'll see how it plays out.D 36 aka One of the Illest Strong Safeties to play the game... sized/hits like a linebacker or "in the box" safety & runs/covers like a corner!!!!!!!
