apexisfree discusses the running physics in madden 10 with madden 04 as well.

I always like apexisfree because he never will shy away from the truth or what he feels to be a concern. He found something interesting with the E3 videos compared to the madden 04 "realistic juke" seen in these videos

    E3 madden 2010
    https://<object width="560" height="...mbed></object>

he also adds in his reccent videos of madden 04 that the one thing missing is the momentum factor of not being up straight when running all the time. And the fact that the little juke and big juke which he saw was not included in the E3 vids

    shown(compared to madden 04) vid 1

    <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vs-xVbpGaIs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vs-xVbpGaIs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

    and part II
    <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8IAnPmzG9Pg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8IAnPmzG9Pg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

and finally compared to madden 10 e3
    <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NXc0RBbmfZ8&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NXc0RBbmfZ8&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

with all of this said. it does raise a concern when the drive for realism is at the helm. But keep this at a respectful critique.

Agreed bro. The running game can be worked on and all that. It can be better. But I think it will do for this year. Apex I hope Ian picks you next year for community day.

You do know that Apexisfree is also ApexBronx at OS, right? He discussed these videos in his own thread here (except the last one).

I really wish he would get a stand for his video camera, I seriously get sea sick watching it.

I dont have a problem with a morph ref....I would rather they don't take down your running back anyway.....It would happen all the time in Madden if they didn't morph...whereas in real life a Ref takes down a RB only a few times per season...

Apex is wrong when talking about the NFL exclusivity license in the last few minutes of that last video. I'm sure the NFL wanted an official/exclusive video game to represent them just as they have an official sports drink, gear, etc. You can't say that EA Sports is evil because of that. Just as much blame should go toward the NFL rather than just at EA Sports. The issues that Apex pointed out in that last video are not enough to force people to return the game back to Gamestop. The Madden team has worked very hard and still are, but they deserve credit for their work. Hopefully more things are tuned/fixed before the game goes gold.

He has some good points. I've always thought the players in madden don't have enough skeletal movement. There has to be more body movement in general and especially when a player is shifting speeds and directions.

Players need to stop jogging and start running! They also have to follow the the laws of physics and momentum!

Meh, they got almost everything else right. They improved the game so much, but yeah my only real problem so far is the running animations.

Ian said they could have went deep with locomotion or Pro-Tak, they obviously picked Pro-Tak. They should get it right for Madden 11 since they will go deep into locomotion.
