Re: Should attributes like speed, strength and throw power progress in franchise mode

So I'm a Cowboys fan ha ha lol, hint hint <-- anyway. I was on Dallas Cowboys.com reading articles like I do often and this particular one was about us not forgeting about Patrick Crayton and how good of a 2nd or 3rd reciever he is or was. Anyway there is specifically a part about him improving his speed at a camp alot of rookies go to improve there 40 times and therefore their draft status. The camp is actually run my world famous sprinter Michael Johnson from Baylor(my home town Waco!)http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/ne...F5B6022CE35E6FI think it's a little unrealistic to freeze these ratings when actual football players are talking about speed training, weight training, strength training and applying it on the field. Seems obsurd to me but that's my opinion. Sorry about the long read on the article but I don't know how to just paste a little bit. Anyway it's near the end

      Re: Progression in Franchise Mode

If I am reading this correctly, Editing ALL attributes MID franchise is CONFIRMED

-You can user control all 32 teams in offline franchise mode, and you can also edit every player on every team within the franchise mode. So if you don't like how a rookie was rated on so-and-so squad, you can change everything about that player's rating within the franchise mode.

SO, since speed and strength are fixed values, we don't have to worry about it anymore-

We can make up for inconsitant progression, or anything we don't agree with.

My faith in franchise mode is getting restored a little bit!
      Madden 11' Franchise should be

Madden '10 "foundation" + depth of Head Coach 09 = my dream franchise mode.

        This is interesting.

I'm not sure if I would ever use this but I am happy for those that wanted this feature.

Does anyone know if progression/regression still only takes place at the end of the year rather than every few games?

Far as I know, your source is wrong. I'm pretty sure you can't edit attributes in franchise mode.

            End of year only.

If it's your franchise, do what you want. Who cares what people do in their own offline franchise?

What i don't understand (yet) is will we be able to change a player's potential rating or does it change automatically when we edit a player.

                    i.e.

                    Harvin

                    76 current ability
                    91 potential ability

If i change his stats and his current rating rises to 81, will his potential rise 5 points to 96, will it stay on 91 or will/can we change the potential also.

I know in Madden 2001 for PC, "Potential" was an actual rating that could be edited between 0 and 99 for each player.

That doesn't fix the fact that editing stats while in franchise is cheating.

Depends on how and why you're doing it.

In Madden 07 PC, i used a 3rd party editor to edit players all the time. I used dice to randomly determine progression because it was broken. So I'd undo the regular progression, then randomly progress players on my own based on their position and experience. Is that cheating?

Agreed. I don't think its cheating either, especially if you are increase AND decreasing not only your own players but also the CPU players. I don't want the experience to be ruined, or to put more lightly- not as fun, because players are not improving the way they should.

Plus, why does anyone care if somebody is cheating in THEIR OWN game? Does that affect any of these people who have their panties in a bunch? Does that make them not able to sleep at night knowing someone out there is cheating and making all of their players 99? The only thing these people could possibly be cheating is cheating themselves out of a fun, and challenging franchise.
