If it's your franchise, do what you want. Who cares what people do in their own offline franchise?

What i don't understand (yet) is will we be able to change a player's potential rating or does it change automatically when we edit a player.

i.e.

Harvin

76 current ability
91 potential ability

If i change his stats and his current rating rises to 81, will his potential rise 5 points to 96, will it stay on 91 or will/can we change the potential also.

I know in Madden 2001 for PC, "Potential" was an actual rating that could be edited between 0 and 99 for each player.

That doesn't fix the fact that editing stats while in franchise is cheating.

Depends on how and why you're doing it.

In Madden 07 PC, i used a 3rd party editor to edit players all the time. I used dice to randomly determine progression because it was broken. So I'd undo the regular progression, then randomly progress players on my own based on their position and experience. Is that cheating?

Agreed. I don't think its cheating either, especially if you are increase AND decreasing not only your own players but also the CPU players. I don't want the experience to be ruined, or to put more lightly- not as fun, because players are not improving the way they should.

Plus, why does anyone care if somebody is cheating in THEIR OWN game? Does that affect any of these people who have their panties in a bunch? Does that make them not able to sleep at night knowing someone out there is cheating and making all of their players 99? The only thing these people could possibly be cheating is cheating themselves out of a fun, and challenging franchise.
