NCAA 2010 All Things Recruiting Thread!!!
Last year, there was an awesome thread for recruiting info (The All Things Recruiting Thread) and I figured I'd start it off for this year as well. I just joined an OD to check out the interface and whatnot and I'm already seeing some things I'm wondering about. So I'll start the 2010 all things recruiting thread with this question. Why are some teams interest bars yellow on a recruit's interest meter? I thought it meant these were his top 3 choices, but it varies. I've seen recruits with all teams with yellow interest bars and I've seen as little as 2 teams with yellow bars. What is this?
EDIT: This is preseason recruiting BTW.Last edited by splff3000; 07-16-2009, 11:58 AM.PSN - Splff3000

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
Just read through Hellisan's recruiting post (good info there) and thought a stickied thread with questions, comments, concerns would be beneficial to all of us. Some questions that Hellisan raised
- How do you effectively use the recruit against feature?
- What are the color coded bars in relation to prospect interest mean (why are some yellow and some red)
<!-- / message -->Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
I would like to know these things as well. That's the reason I created the thread. I didn't expect to see it on the 4th page in only a few hours after I created it lol. I guess it's just not that important to other people.Just read through Hellisan's recruiting post (good info there) and thought a stickied thread with questions, comments, concerns would be beneficial to all of us. EDIT: Just out of curiosity, why did these two threads get combined? Hellisan's thread is about HIS recruiting trail and what not, while the one I created was so people could ask questions pertaining to ALL aspects of recruiting. While he does raise some good questions in it, Hellisan's thread and my thread are not the same.Last edited by splff3000; 07-16-2009, 04:18 PM.PSN - Splff3000

Im not sure but I was guessing it indicates the recruits interest in the school.Last year, there was an awesome thread for recruiting info (The All Things Recruiting Thread) and I figured I'd start it off for this year as well. EDIT: This is preseason recruiting BTW.
For example, the top 2 may be green and the 3rd is yellow.
Maybe it means he really likes the first 2 schools, and has interest in the 3rd but is not as high on them...Comment

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
I'm wondering if way over rated incoming recruits (specifically 2 and 3 star) can be lowered with patch work? If so, can you PLEASE add it to patch #2. EA claimed in an interview that incoming recruits and progression had been tweaked so there weren't so many superstar freshman.Comment

Re: NCAA 2010 All Things Recruiting Thread!!!
I thought the recruit had interested in all his top 10 schools. What's the point of having other schools there if he has no interest in them? Now we have to sit here and guess how this stuff works. Also, what is the little bar for when your on a phone call with a recruit? What does it mean when it's full? Is that when he'll hang up or does that mean you've maxed out your points for that week? Who knows? Why would EA change this stuff and then don't tell anyone what anything means?PSN - Splff3000

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
The BEST strategy is as follows....
Go for mainly 3* recruits. They will come in at 77-82 ovr. After yr 1 they will go up by 2-6 points ovr. They are easier to get and end up JUST as good as your 4-5* recruits. If you complare their progession to the 4* or 5* recruits by yr 2 they will go about like this:
I signed a 3* DE/MLB/FS. Ratings yr 1 were 77/82/79
I signed a 4* QB/RB/DT Ratings yr 1 were 81/80/78
Fast forward to Yr 2
Same 6 players...
3* 85/87/86
4* 84/83/84
Whats the benefit of signing 4* players when 3* are easier to get and progress just as much if not better?
This has worked out VERY good thus far.Comment

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
Adam, PLEASE fix the recruits. they all come in wayyy too high. 5 stars should max out at 80-81 ish, 4 stars at about 75-76 ish, 3 stars at 70-71 ish, 2 stars at 66-67 ish, 1 stars never higher than 60. It is a game killer honestly when half of your team is rated 90 overall and every team is so close it really takes the fun out of it.Comment

No, I mean out of his top 10 schools(has at least some interest in all of them), he may really like the first 2, show medium interest in the next few, and show little but some interest in the last few.
If the recruit has high interest in your program, the bar will bill green and almost filled.
If he has medium interest, it will be yellow and around half full
If he has little interest, it will be red
Thats what im guessing at leastComment

Re: *OFFICIAL NCAA 10 RECRUITING THREAD*
I personally like the color coded bars. If you go to a site like rivals, they show a recruits interest list. Take Micheal Dyer for instance, he has auburn listed as high with Oklahoma Notre Dame and another school listed as medium and the rest of the top ten rated as low. As far as the game goes it shows you how close a recruit is to commiting. So if a recruit has a green bar for texas and a yellow bar for Oklahoma, i will try to downplay texas and make sure that i have him scheduled to visit me before texas.Comment
