Re: Post Draft Combine Player Stats

I made a 6'10 230 lb Athletic PF, aspiring to be an Antonio McDyess...well before his knee died...

      11.0 PPG
      5.5 RPG
      2.2 APG
      0.2 SPG
      2.2 BPG
      .449 FG%

43 Overall with a team grade of B+. I gotta say, the gameplay is really hard, but I love it. You have to budget your turbo, so it isn't all fast breaks...you have to work to get open. I had games where I took too many shots and other games where I spent too much time outside the post and didn't get rebounds. I also played against some really good PF's that you definitely had to keep up with with all the cuts and screens they make. I didn't do as well as I thought I would, but it's been very rewarding, and hopefully I can do a lot more when 2K10 comes out.

One thing I'm really enjoying is the new shotblocking logic. I love it when your guy can pin layups off the backboard, and I also like that smaller guys can't shoot over you when you keep your arms up in the air. I'd probably make a good niche in that area.

I still can't understand how could one get a "A+" "teammate grade" for jacking up 45ppg in 20mpg. A scout might love it, but definetly not your teammates.

Re: Post Draft Combine Player Stats

I'm almost embarrassed to post mine now... Seeing these other stats shows that he may never make it to the league. Some of these other players (40 and 30 point averages, 13 steals a game) are definitely hungrier!! Lol. My player may have to go and finish school... OR there is always playing over seas.

          Devin Wright
          Athletic Point Guard
          6'3 176 pounds
          24.2 ppg
          8.7 rebounds (2.2 offense)
          6.7 assists
          2.2 steals
          .7 blocks
          2 turnovers
          .575 fg %
          0 3pt %

A+ every game. Projected to go 9th pick, 2nd round.

Oh yeah... 42 overall. Killer mid range jumper (80) yet it helped very little with my overall.

Well, at least we know who the cheesers are. Take notes 2k.

Seriously, if you're averaging 30 points a game, you shouldn't be averaging 10 rebounds and 10 steals too (at least not when you're rated in the 40's). Your player should be laying on the court, face down, not breathing due to doing everything on the court.

I'm on my second go round, and I think I put up pretty solid stats, but I can only imaging these people are running around on offense calling for the ball nonstop, and are the one's who are glued to the steal button on defense.

My first player was a 6'8" athletic SF, trying to make someone similar to a Travis Outlaw, wanted an athletic guy who was solid on both sides of the ball. He ended up being cheese and when I'd drive to the bucket he'd be able to dunk on 3 people. He averaged something like 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 52% from the field, and like 30% from 3.

Second player is a 6'4" offensive PG. He's pretty good as well, averaging like 25 points a game, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals a game. I've had 2 double doubles and got real close to a triple double.

I'm considering starting over with a PF or a C to see what it's like to be down low, but I think PG is probably going to be the most fun. (and most relative to what I know since that's what I played in high school)

How do you cheese versus the computer?

"Oh darn there goes another one of those cheesers who score 30+ a game, oh gosh he's a cheeser"

Not that serious. Your 'PG' is 6'4" which instantly gives him a size advantage over every PG in the league and there is no 1 guard in the NBA that averages over 22 pts a game so your 25 ppg I consider 'cheesy'.

Have you seen Outlaw play? Dude dunks on NBA players, that's what happens when you make an Athletic SF 6'8", you can't shoot but your a giant who can leap so of course your going to dunk on people.

                  25 Points
                  10 Rebounds
                  13 Assists

But i'm sure other people have had better games, but this one was my best so far.

Same way you cheese against a human? By using exploits of the game.

I'd probably say something like 75% of the PG's in the league are 6'3" ish as well, 6'4" really isn't a huge advantage, especially since he's 185 pounds, which makes him the same height as Jason Kidd, but 25 pounds lighter. (Jason Kidd 6'4", Agent Zero 6'4", Rodney Stuckey 6'5") I created the point guard to replicate Gilbert by the way. Gilbert's last season where he actually played a decent amount of games he averaged 28 points, your point of him being "cheesy" because he can score is void.

It's not like my player is averaging a triple double, that's a little insane.

And sure Outlaw dunks on people, but I wouldn't expect someone who's rated a 43 to be able to just leap and dunk on 3 other potential NBA draft picks.

If you've played any game including 2K online for a good peroid of time you would know there are things you can get away with on the computer that you can't do on a human. It's easy to manipulate and see the computers pattern to get easy steals and buckets. If your stealing the inbound every play a human will pass to the SG and go up court, a computer will pass it to the SG then attempt to pass it back to the PG every time which allows for an easy steal. You can't do this versus a human.

More than half the PG's in the NBA are under 6'4", but I could careless about the size of your PG. Was just making the point that anyone can consider something cheesy, who are we to police someone on the way they play an offline game?

People are putting putting too much weight on Draft Combine. Got people remaking their guy 18 times to get that extra 150 skill points when most people will be in 90's within a week of 2K10 release. So people should just enjoy the game the way they want regardless how they play because that 67 ppg isn't going to matter much once the game is out and everyone is over a 90. Your not going to sit there and say

"Yeah you can tell that's one of those guys that used exploits in Draft Combine"

If i'm online and someone wants to use 'exploits' on me they did on the computer and I allow myself to be manipulated like the horrible game AI I deserve to lose.

Oops, I meant 16 assits and 13 steals.

Either way, yes I'm an exploiter of the steal thing. So what? Not like I'm a ball hog.

Off the top of my head I ended with:

                                24 ppg
                                5 apg

                                1.5 spg

I'm an athletic SF and I can jump out of the gym . I can't hit a jumper to save my life so most of my points are coming off fast breaks, I feel like James White hahaha.
