Boise State beat Pac 10 champion Oregon and an undefeated team in the Fiesta Bowl. Alabama beat Florida and Texas, and had the SEC refs on their side a majority of the season.

You can't hold BSU's conference against them. Well SEC fans who don't believe any school outside of the conference can, but no one else can. You cannot definitively say Bama was better than Boise.Comment

Yes you can hold it against them their strength of schedule hinderd them and had they played a team like Alabama it would not be close. Cincinatti was a better team than Boise and look at how Florida took care of them 51-24. There are enough corrolaries between '08 Utah (the rightful MNC) and '09 Boise State to see that it wouldn't have been a walk in the park for Bama. There is no way you can say Bama would soundly defeat BSU, who now deserves a share of their second MNC this decade.Comment
