Just about any major sports game in the past few years.
-MLB 2K9 - basically unplayable, was left unpatched.
-Madden '09 (or was it '08) - HOF players in a present day franchise and broken fatigue
-NCAA Basketball '10 - Too many to list
-NBA 2K10 - Online leagues were useless until the latest patch, current status has CPU big men shooting 3's via simulations.
...and that's just off the top of my head. Notice they are all sports games, which have a short development cycle.
These are people working on these games, not robots. I'd like to see you work endless hours and not be expected to take any time off. Sound like fun?
Admittedly, I'm a bit more conscious about this than the next guy. But if you're here at OS, you should learn about the industry and post with such knowledge.
I mean, who cares there was a patch release already waiting near release day. Who cares they posted an update less than 24 hours after release day saying they know about the issues listed in the first post. Who cares that they asked for our direct input on potentials to fix a mistake and released a roster within a few day. Who cares, really? Why aren't they still sitting at their cubicles, posting hour by hour updates via Twitter, slaving away so I can make sure Matt Kemp does not become a lead off hitter because I don't want to use a workaround, something most sports gamers have had to do for years?

See, this is all I want people to realize.
J/K, that was hilarious actually.
