Re: The Next Kipper NHL 10 BAP

2009 NHL-Draft Player Bios

Tonight we are focusing on Finnish goalie Mikko Holopainen
Holopainen is 6-1 tall and he is 184lbs heavy. He is from Kuopio and he played 13 games in Finnish elite league SM-Liiga. His stats from the season were 5 wins, 5 losses and 3 overtime losses, his Goal Against Average was 2,98 and his Save percentage was 90,12%. He also played in the U18 World Championship with Finland as they got the bronze medal. He played five games with GAA of 2,13 and with a Save percentage of 93,25%. He is told to be the next Miikka Kiprusoff or the next Nicklas Backstrom. NHL Central Scouting said that he would be in the top 10. Yhis is what NHL Central Scouting's European Division leader Goran Stubb said about Holopainen: ''He is very talented and fast, but he needs to improve his stick-work.''
Holopainen played the Prospects game with the World Prospects which they won against the North American Juniors 3-2. Holopainen made 16 saves, but he couldn't do nothing on the two goals that the Juniors scored, they both were redirected from a shot from the point, but in the last minute he showed his reflexes when he stopped Stephan Leclaire's slapshot from 5 feets away. Holopainen will be one of the hottest player on the draft that's for sure and propably the best goalie and the best Finn in the draft.
