Sub 300k copies or so, probably less.
Really depends on the advertising and player feedback since the majority of sports fans have never heard of this title.Comment

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
i Can see sales really getting up there. Back breaker doesn't have to follow any yearly cycle like the NFL or NCAA its football. So when people get tired of playing other football games or just want to try something new Back Breaker will fill that void. When that happens thats when sales will really speed up but i anticipate a slow start.Comment

It hinnk they will do good in it. Despite late advertising and all. I'm getting the game myself. So there is one sale for them.Comment

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
I can see sales being slow at first, but if the game is good...people start telling their friends, it could catch like wildfire.
I don't think their sales will exceed Madden though. Madden is an established brand, people stick with what they know best, more times than not.
I wouldn't go above 400k.

Less than 250K. The only way this game takes off is if it's truly revolutionary. I'd be really happy if that's the case.Xbox Live Gamertag: CreatineKasey

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
If I had to guess, maybe 250k, id be pretty surprised to see it do a lot more than that. 150-200k of that opening month, the remainder plus maybe a little more for the rest of the year unless it drops to $10 when other football games come out or something. I think it will do better than APF2k8's opening ~80k, but wouldn't be too surprised if it was closer to that number than to my guess.
Like it or not, the game is competing with other football games, if they could have timed this release for Feb or March they'd have done a lot better. The week after UFC, and a handful of weeks before NCAA, and only 2 months before Madden (not to mention other AAA titles like SMG2, MGS Peace Walker), in this economy, could be pretty bad for sales of any new IP with what has been fairly poor marketing so far.Comment

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
yes there marketing to seems to me to be targeted at hardcore gamers with there dev diaries and very little commercial rotation. however wit that said I still give backbreaker 150-250k in the first month but after youtubers flood the net with awesome gameplay and teams with the NFL likeness sales will boost. Also if Madden doesn't pan well with their on the fence fans I think they come to see the greatness that is BB.Comment

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
it's hard to say.
they had commercials during the draft which should help.
Their gametrailers vids should help, not to mention the ratings of the vids are high 8s and some 9's. That to me says a lot because I think those votes actually relate well to sales. I don't think allpro's were ever that high.
They also know they are on a different sales bracket than something like Madden, so I'd actually like to know their target sales number. I'm sure they are expecting something modest.
I don't think sports games can catch on like massive sleeper hits such as borderlands...that was a true wild fire.
They need more tv ads around launch and good word of mouth.
I'll guess low to high, I actually think it will do rather well
300-500K
I think if they did 500 and over they'd be very happy and a bit surprised.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.
I have a feeling that Backbreaker will not do well sales wise. I feel that the game's biggest issue is product awareness and timing.
If the game is good and gets good reviews. I'd say 250K and up.
If the game is just average or poor. Less than 100K.
This game has flop potential even if the game in the long run turns out to be great.Comment
