    Glow Around Players

Does anyone know what the glow is around the players that you sometimes see in these videos?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Glow Around Players

They are just aids to help you see the players.
You can turn the glow off. See the BB info thread. Lots of good stuff in there if you have questions.

I don't think that is correct. On pro mode most if not all of the visual aides can be turned off based on the info we have.

Well, I'd be surprised to see no glowing on the field, how else are we going to know which WR we're throwing to?

by judging where you think he is looking.....that is how I'm going to play...no colors aids from me thank you...

but most of the time, of course I will use the focus mode....so that will make it much easier.

Same here. It'll be more challenging without the aids.

I think of it like training wheels. I'm going to use it the first couple games I play while I'm getting used to the mechanics, but I will turn them off eventually.

                      Re: Glow Around Players

I hate any sort of visual aids no matter how much of a help they are because it's a video game.

But seriously, I may play with them on for one game (more particularly on defense than offense just to acclimate myself to how the view follows certain things with respect to what is glowing), but I'm certain that it will all be off sooner than later. I even fear that having that kind of stuff on would be a cause of game slowdown or framerate issues, something I never want to be a part of.

But like I said, on defense it would most come in handy. I think the biggest adjustment for me will be when I switch players, as I would probably be pretty disoriented as to my new player and camera angle, etc. Having the glow would help you find out who you're supposed to be going after.

There are a few gameplay issues that I would like for Backbreaker 2 (BB2) to address, and what you bring up is exactly one of them—switching defensive players and the corresponding disoriented camera cut effect. The following video definitely shows those certain moments where this disorientation is noticeably erratic. Under the video, I have listed two immediate problems/concerns that I would like BB2 to address.

Problem #1: Disorientation during camera switch<o></o>
Imagine switching from a defensive end (DE) to a strong safety (SS), then to a corner back (CB) and then switching to a corner back (CB) on the opposite side of the field, and then switching to the linebacker (LB). There would be an extraordinary amount of camera cuts. Jumping immediately from one player’s perspective to another player on the opposite side of the field will have maximum disorienting effect.
                          <o></o>
                          BB1: Solution/Suggestion<o></o>
Locking in on one single player (e.g. Linebacker, Safety, etc.) for the entire play would be best for Backbreaker 1. This is already a given.
                          <o></o>
                          BB2: Solution/Suggestion : “Pan and Scan” <o></o>
For Backbreaker 2 (BB2), I would like to see the camera actually “pan over” at slow, moderate, or fast speed to the newly switched player before the snap AND especially during the play. By “panning over or scanning over” from a left (CB) to a right (CB), the gamer will maintain field perspective. The camera will always remain in the 3rd person camera mode as well.
                          <o></o>
If you ever watched the first 15 minutes of the movie “Snake Eyes,” you’ll get an idea of what talking about. I don't recall how it actually looks, but the first 15 minutes of this movie used this “pan and scan” effect. The first 15 minutes of the movie was shot in one sequence. There were no cut scenes. If the actors messed up at the 11 minute mark, they would have had to re-shoot the entire sequence from the beginning.
                          <o></o>
                          <o></o>
                          Problem #2: Broadcast Replay camera<o></o>
Since backbreaker is an on-the-field experience, the addition of “broadcast replay” mode completely takes away from that effect.
                          <o></o>
BB2: Solution/Suggestion: “Replay from the perspective of the opposite team's play maker (e.g. 'would-be' tackler," 'would-be' ball carrier," 'would-be' fumble recovery guy, the 'would-be' play maker)

During replay mode, start the replay from the perspective of the opposite team. If the gamer is on offensive, show the replay mode from the cpu's defensive "would-be" tackler perspective. If the gamer is on defense, show the replay mode from the cpu's offense "would-be" ball carrier perspective. Basically from the perspective of the opposing team's player maker. Have the camera over the shoulder or at a slightly different angle that differs from in-game mode.

Also keep the replay as a continuous shot without having the intrusive Backbreaker logo swoop across the screen to split the replay sequence. Would also like an option to allow the gamer to completely turn off the replay mode in BB2 if BB1 doesn't have this available.

Bottom line: to preserve the on-the-field moment during replays.
                          <o>

To solve this problem, go into coach cam(hold down LB) which will have the computer take over the controls while held down, then switch players and let go.

I figure that should solve the problem for most people.

Another alternative would be to switch players and immediately hold LB that way you can tell who your switching to in case there is no visual as to who your controling while in coach cam.

Agreed I may have to do the same and play on arcade mode(for more than one game probably) to get the hang of this game. I'll play with it turned off eventually the first day If get it because, I wanna see what the A.I. is like.
